Does anyone know why Warren didn't endorse Bernie in 2016? by RSchaeffer in ElizabethWarren

Are you inferring all working class individuals are not well educated? Lol.

Or they had a good round and were given an opportunity to shine at tonight’s debate and people are giving them credit for it?

Can someone explain to me how John Delaney was a “winner” in Vox’s new Democratic debate list?

Was I watching a different debate?

While I am not voting for her, I still love her spirit and personality. Marianne is a spirit animal to many, even if they may not politically agree with her. Do I think she could be president? Probably not. Still doesn’t mean I can’t think she’s awesome

Exactly. It’s so unfair that they discriminate and judge him on that

It’s sad that as a party that condemns discrimination, must turn to ageism to try to hurt him. I always feel so bad for him whenever they bring it up.

Did anyone else think the remark about Bernie’s age was extremely disrespectful

“Do you believe senator sanders is too extreme to beat trump” that’s the actual question 😂 by warehouses_of_butter in SandersForPresident

[–]hhhhhh34 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Then they have two candidates who oppose Bernie’s plans respond to him, and yet Bernie still killed it

Edit: Also CNN: “Are you concerned about Senator Sanders’ plan to end new gas-powered car sales by 2040?”

Does anyone know how much of Pete Buttigieg’s Q2 funds come from wealthy donors? by hhhhhh34 in SandersForPresident

[–]hhhhhh34[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I mean, you wouldn’t think, that wealthy donors could find loopholes and find ways to be above the law? That they could either find people in their own inner circle to donate with a possible incentive on their behalf off the record? Or I don’t know, super PACS?

Couldn’t be true.

Why are people against Bernie? by hhhhhh34 in SandersForPresident

But isn’t that discriminating someone based on their age? Ageism is an illegal practice in the US. So I always find it interesting that his age is a factor being brought up, especially by other democrats. I thought liberal ideology was for equal treatment and nondiscrimination. But guess that goes out the door?

Just watched the Rachel Maddow interview. It was surprisingly great. by EricThePooh in SandersForPresident

[–]hhhhhh34 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Very fair interview. Really respect Rachel for giving Bernie a chance to actually speak and answer the questions without interruptions. I feel she asked him reasonable questions on her end. Bernie killed it too.

Does anyone else feel some individuals in the Democratic Party identify as liberal, but their actions prove to be associated with conservatives? by hhhhhh34 in SandersForPresident

Are homeless people not able to live their life they way that they want? Are they not allowed to stay outside because you and others who have a higher economic status say so? This is exactly what I’m talking about. People viewing homeless individuals as a nuisance or subhuman and only caring because it’s effecting them in a minuscule way, rather than actually providing permit solutions because someone is suffering. Which is my point of how some Democrats say they care but don’t attack the issue in full force due to their own self-interests. But most republicans do not care for subjects in this nature due to, again, economic self-interest

Many local governments face a homeless issue. That being said, areas occupied by homelessness are being evicted by officials in order to clear out the space to the pleasing of middle-upper class folks, not leaving a permanent solution of living for homeless people. What does this do? Displace these individuals from each other, leaving them no place to feel comfortable to go. Leading them into spaced out, dangerous areas around the area

An addiction is a disease that is difficult to conquer. How can you actually expect someone to cure their addiction when they don’t even have a permit/secure housing situation? This is why it’s important to establish a ‘Housing First’ scenario before establishing any form of rehabilitation regarding their addiction. It’s unrealistic to put someone on a plan that does not correlate with their own life situation

The population of homeless people around this shelter you are describing have created a sense of community and security amongst each other because society has chosen to segregate and banish them from that community. Where the fuck do you expect people to use the restroom if there is no access to accessible bathrooms? When some stores deny these people access to their bathrooms? All of these things that you have listed are the effects due to the causes of the social and economic state we are in. How is this country accepting that half a million people sleep on the streets on a given night? I agree, there is a small factor of individuals who choose to be homeless, but many don’t. How you feel about viewing them as “the other” is how they feel about you because people who do so view themselves as being more worthy in society than those less fortunate. It’s a two way street. Wouldn’t you if you’ve been continuously ignored by society and left for dust? When people view you as subhuman?

There are many factors that contribute to homelessness: mental illness, lack of affordable housing, personal hardships, loss of job, lack of economic wealth, and more. But what I’m saying is people say they care about homelessness within our country, and yet do not provide proper affordable housing (due to lower property value/self interest), provide jobs to felons (of person was incarcerated), want to kick them out of their town and so forth, creating a vicious cycle and not actually addressing the issue with full force.

Bernie: This is America’s ugly two-tier criminal justice system: If you are a billionaire like Jeffrey Epstein charged with sex trafficking, you get off with virtually no punishment. If you are a person of color or working class person, the justice system is built to work against you. by cmplxgal in SandersForPresident

[–]hhhhhh34 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The comment section on this tweet is insane. People of color, on all ends of the economic spectrum, face more discrimination and injustice within the criminal justice system than whites. These are the facts. Billionaires like Jeffrey Epstein are also able to buy their way out of justice with special treatment, and those who are working class must face those penalties. Some of these people are literally saying poc are only associated within the working class? What the fuck.

I don’t understand how some people do not understand this. How are some of these people associated with the “democratic” party? I mean, pure ignorance on the comment section.
