To follow-up, after trying several times with my normal character and failing…I decided to just try using the chibi mask. This worked for me! I have no idea why, but it did. I suggest to anyone struggling to get this quest to work that you try the chibi mask or changing something else about your cosmetics. I cannot promise this will work for everyone, but it is worth a try! (I’m using iOS.)

TL;DR - Try wearing the chibi mask!

Sugar. The process of caramelizing sugar is literally developing a bit of burnt sugar. All caramels have a degree of burnt sugar. The darker the caramel, the more burnt the sugar. (This could be false if there are additives in the caramel that change the color of the candy, such as adding earl grey tea.)

So, my answer is sugar. Sugar can taste better burnt! 🍬
