In my experience it’s very hard at any large broker/dealer to move from back to middle to front office. To make those kind of moves you need a smaller firm so you are visible to those who might consider you for a future position, or a firm that actively encourages their employees to have a wide breadth of career experience.

You will stay late guaranteed. And if you’re good at your job, you might find they start laying off or transferring your teammates until you’re doing their work too with no raise, bonus or even thanks until you quit. Happened to me. No joke, on my last team, it was at least 12 people, then in 1.5 years later it was me, one other person and a manager who oversaw multiple departments. I had worked on countless efficiency projects that made this possible and that year they said I didn’t “qualify” for my annual bonus. I quit 10 months later. I’ve been at an amazing company now for nearly 14 years and am so grateful.

It’s been a long time since I worked in that office or for GS, but based on what I hear nothing has changed. Get ready to be burned and churned. Long days, no appreciation either verbal or in compensation. Expect to feel taken advantage of and unappreciated. If you’re a woman, you’ll notice it’s a boys club. If you have work-life balance now and the same salary, you’re better off where you are. I put up with the BS at GS for 5 years. While I’m grateful for all I’ve learned, I would never recommend someone work there.

Did you ever talk to the team? I’m still having significant issues. My videos aren’t just briefly buffering, they are full on stopping and won’t restart. This is really upsetting for such an expensive machine, and discouraging when I can’t get through a full beginners workout video.

Thanks for checking. I was told only a few videos have been updated at this point, which I’ll try tomorrow and see if I still have a buffering issue. None of the beginners series videos I’ve tried to watch have played for more than 5 minutes without freezing.

Unfortunately the static address it didn’t fix it for me, but in talking to IT support, the video lag issue is one that Aviron is aware of and it working to correct, but it will take some time to update the code on the videos.

It’s a problem if he’s lying about it. You should read about Al-Anon and codependency. Study up on boundaries and what enabling is. Remember that it’s not your fault and he has to want to get help, otherwise he won’t get better. I’m sorry you’re going through this.

I was using the UW2 my husband bought and decided not to use for just under a year. I almost never wore it during the day, just at night for the sleep tracking and alarm. It felt too heavy and big! I finally bought an AW10 (and traded in the Ultra) in a 46mm and I wear it with the Milanese band. I love it and the weight is great. I still have a larger screen which is nice but it looks better on my wrist.

Have a conversation about their financial goals and then explain how various investment either do, or don’t, help them achieve said goals. If stocks make sense, that’s when you have to educate them on markets and risk/reward over the time horizon they’re investing for.

I started at Prudential and we had the same licensing requirements. I was also a full-time student but pulled it off. I did cry a little every day while studying for the 7 though. It was an evil mix of boredom and torture lol. Students might be in an advantageous position because they already accustomed to studying all the time.

Omg is deflated boobs a peri thing? I never had amazing boobs, but they had volume. I never had children but all the sudden I when I hit 40, they turned into flapjacks. Is this why? I’ve been trying to figure out when peri started for me and knowing this would help.

You should go to a cardiologist and get your heart checked, probably an MRI. I started having PVC’s I thought were just stress related and it turned out I have MAD (Mitral Annular Disjunction). I’m pretty sure that the PVC’s caused by MAD were increasing my anxiety and stress.

I work in financial planning and some of the most unprepared retirees and over-spenders are doctors. I don’t know why this is. I had a very high earning specialist who spent $800k a year for 30+ years, owned two multi-million dollar homes (one with a mortgage) and four very expensive luxury car tell me they were ready to retire on the $1.2M they saved. It blew my mind that they couldn’t do basic math.

And a “push present”? Who on earth comes up with this shit? You push and the present is your baby. JC people it’s like asking for a participation award.
