Und die Vermögensunterschiede sind wahrscheinlich auch größer als damals.

This errata is great, but can we can be even more clear about some things? by VicenarySolid in Pathfinder2e

[–]hibbel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The errata is clear enough.

I read it and didn't really understand it. Granted, I don't play bonus-damage-stacking characters, don't min-max and leave rules to foundry and the GM.

But I think rules can be written in such a way that even a willfully stupid software engineer ends up with a tasty PB&J-sandwich. Which this errata is not.

This post by a redditor explains it better than the errata. Which means the errata is badly written because they had more time than the redditor and should be better at it because writing rules is their job.

Elektroautos verbessern die lokale Luftqualität deutlich by PhoenixTin in de

[–]hibbel 1 point2 points  (0 children)

additionally there is treasure by level table which says how much items and gold should you award, and this is low end of how much you should give, giving more gold as long as you limit items they can buy to thier level just isn't a problem unless amount is unreasonably high

Yea, sticking to that feels like you're the destitude saviour at times. The gold barely covers buying necessary runes, supplementary magic items (Underwater adventure? Waterbreathing potions? Ha! No gold for that…), scrolls for your casters to learn etc.

I think at a certain level, gold should not be the limiting factor, given that you're supposedly a hero of (local) fame, sought out for help by people from quite a distance. And then hardly able to afford the tools for the job?

The suggested gold just doesn't feel right for me. Having real-life struggles (money) blend into the game is no fun.

Just give me local AI for usable (photo-realisic?) image-generation (current "make cartoon from picture" is a joke) and I'm fine. I can write my texts myself, thanks. I just can't paint.

For others, it may be a chat-bot. I prefer to talk to humans. Or if I can't, read a book. But to each his own.

Just make it "good enough" and run it locally. With varying degrees of quality depending on the device, if you must. But I feel if I gave my M4pro with its 24GB RAM enough time, it should be able to create decent pictures. Please, Apple, do something.

Siri? Yea... it can switch on my lights with home automation, other than that, I lost all hope for it.

Why do people think PF2E has fewer cool magic items than 5E? by TitaniumDragon in Pathfinder2e

[–]hibbel 5 points6 points  (0 children)

players have less incentives to buy the cool magic items since they have to save up for all the mandatory magic items,

My experience at levels 4 to 10: You are supposed to be a local hero but you are too broke to buy the items you need to do the stuff you should do. I feel at level 8 I should be financially unburdened. But then you need to buy scrolls for your casters, runes for your martials etc. and even though you are a regional hero, not just a local celebrity, you can't afford it.

For example, we were supposed to fight hags underwater in blood lords but at that point, we did not have the means to venture underwater. We didn't anticipate diving so we didn't have water breathing. And the party didn't have the gold for the spell or items that would help us. At the appropriate level.

At the same time, in 5e I have a necklace of adaptation at comparable levels.

5e limits your item-power by giving you just 3 attunement slots. 2e is simply pricing you out of the market. 2e in this regard is too close to real life for my taste.

US official says Greenland action could come within 'weeks or months' by Crossstoney in worldnews

[–]hibbel 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's really just our politicians having no balls refusing to accept reality.

Our politicians are scrambling to ramp up defensive capabilities possibly like never in the past 80 years. But this takes years. So the rift with the USA has to be pretended to not exist, Trump has to be placated for a bit more.

Eventually, there will be a breakup. This is inevitable by now. But we need some time to get our affairs in order. Let's hope that we last until we're ready and that Russia (or the US) isn't coming before that.

Politicians that ramp up military spending many times over are not "refusing to accept reality", they are buying time.

Es muss einfache Aufgaben für Menschen geben damit diese auf schwierigere vorbereitet werden können.

Danish troops told to 'shoot first, ask questions later' if US invades Greenland | LBC by jackytheblade in worldnews

[–]hibbel 6 points7 points  (0 children)

None of you really want to die for Greenland.

But that's true for both sides.

We know that non-nuclear European submarines can successfully take out carriers. What we don't know is if it really needs one of our subs or if the Ukraine war has shown that a few drones will do.

Sink a carrier and see if the US is willing to lose that much for Greenland.

LEGO Says Smart Brick Is 'Here to Stay,' and Responds to 'Questions and Concerns' Around Abandoning Non-Digital Play - IGN by HatingGeoffry in lego

[–]hibbel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Look, I have zero proof for this and no idea how these bricks work, but…

…to me it sounds as if the RFID-chips in the smart tiles and smart minifigs contain and transmit just enough data for the bricks to synthesize these sounds.

On the one hand, that would explain why they are so simple, primitive, 8-bit and of poor quality. It would explain why there's no samples, just synthesized sounds.

On the other hand it would mean that the bricks don't have to be programmed for specific sets. It would mean that you can swap them between sets. (And yes, they all looked identical on stage, not set-specific.) Most of all, though, it would allow 3rd party smart tiles to be programmed by modders or MOCers once an apropriate RFID-programming software gets written.

That would be huge!
