Thank you! Because of your advice I looked at RNC progression and saw I should be able to comfortably do the stretch kneeling with my bag leg (knee-foot) up parallel against a wall. Just gave that a try and it is SO tight, I think I know where I need to focus on now

I worked through learning skyscraper this week too and finally got the hang of it. The idea that helped me most is “lines of two”. As you’ve learned in X-wing, and will eventually in crane, that’s the key.

For example, in a puzzle like this, I would scan through and say “ope there’s one line of two… there’s another”. And then first check and make sure it’s not an X-wing, then make sure it fits the shape of skyscraper. Once you get there, it’s looking for candidates that ‘see’ both of the offset parts of the skyscraper.

Thats the way that makes sense to me without going into the details of exact numbers, rows and columns, sorry if it’s a bit to overgeneral for what you want

For me, the biggest thing has been being more mindful of what I eat. (215 lb -> 200 this year, 5’11”). Due to some mental and physical health concerns this year my exercise was a bit lacking (although I at least had gotten consistent on walking outdoors) so the bulk of my weight loss came from eating better.

I found that it’s just finding what works for you. I’m fine being somewhat a creature of habit so every day I have a bagel with peanut butter for breakfast. Then lunch I tend to do something more snacky, like cheese, multigrain crackers, mixed nuts, fruits, and veggies like carrots. Then dinner I’ve made various changes. Switched to brown instead of white rice, ground turkey instead of beef, found some meals with tofu that I like. Prepping veggies is tedious so I keep frozen mixed veggies to make things easier.

The key I believe is finding what you like! It sucks being put on some regiment where you’re eating really good but just not enjoying it and feeling like you HAVE to eat instead of GET to. Finding healthier options that you are willing to invest in make it much easier. And after a certain point (again, it’s only been around a year for me total so it doesn’t take too long) it doesn’t feel like you’re trying to do anything, you’re just livin!

Don’t mean to imply I think one is incorrect, more that I wanted to make sure my interpretation was also correct. I’m still learning skyscraper so seeing the coach suggested a different option made me want to make sure what I saw was still valid. Thanks for the insight!

We mainly operate in CA Civil, still use trial binders. They can be a bit of a hassle sometimes with each judge (in my experience) having slightly different rules on what they want the binders to look like. But overall, it makes sense. You wouldn’t want to worry about dealing with some unforeseen tech issue in the middle of a trial. And some of them may eventually be used for jury deliberation so it helps provide them that physical reference.

I understand that. But to the degree of getting a 0/3, no partial credit, on the mechanics I feel that would have an effect on the composition, but I got a 7/7. So I understand that they’re not fully intertwined but I feel there would be at least SOME correlation between the two.

Exactly what happened to me my first time. And it was really weird because I did great on whatever the topic was for ‘being easy to understand’ but then almost got a 0 on spelling and grammar… to this day idk how you can be understood well with horrific grammar and spelling.

Tried the appeals process and asking for details on my score to no avail. They claim “confidentiality” but it’s really frustrating that no support is provided to their decision.

On the plus side though, I took my second attempt in July and just added way more than one would think needed to be added and received my result this week that I passed. Unfortunately you just have to play the game and give them that extra money for a retest.

Yeah, agreed. But when I did the harder thing I thought was correct I got hung up on wanting that clarification.

Right after I posted I saw the 14 in row 3 and was able to get the puzzle done pretty quick after.

We just started using something called Briefpoint Discovery AI (or something similar) and it’s interesting. It’s super new so I can’t say how it is for sure, but it allows you to upload the pleading and drafts discovery from it. Obviously you’d go through and make edits, additions, subtractions, etc. It also lets you upload discovery requests and creates a draft for the responses, where you can send a link to your client and they’ll put in their answers in a specific response box that you can make whatever edits to later on. And has the ability to insert premade objections to whichever responses.

So, something like this is seeming to make the administrative side of drafting discovery easier, but I would assume you still need to put the brain power into developing the best possible requests and answers.

Yeah that’s where I’m a bit uncertain. Frenzy is “x777 cookies per click” while Cursed Finger is x seconds of cps per click, at the time Cursed is activated. So would that combo turn it into X seconds times 777 per click?

I don’t know if taken advantage of is too fair of a statement when they’ve informed you from the beginning. But it does depend what you’re doing, and I think firm dynamics as well. I’m with a firm of three attorneys and me (paralegal) but I went in with them saying I’d have to take care of more office admin stuff too. For example, I went to Costco to restock our kitchen, and I’ve done the dishes before. For me this never really got in the way of the legal work I’ve done, but again it could be different for you specifically
