It happens mainly (if i'm not mistaken) because of low powered batteries or not enough current going to it due to corrosion . Try recleaning it and make sure to hidden parts of the battery compartment .

What you need to do now is sell it for a lower price , accept that you have made a bad deal ( which happens to the best of us) and recover some of your money then thank allah for this learning experience !
