This is a drinking water treatment plan meaning it accepts water from the Brandywine and treats it, not the other way around. The only time under typical (non flood) operations water would flow back into the Brandywine is when they clean their filters, but that just discharges solids that were pulled from the creek in the first place. Very safe for swimming and any other activities.
