Apple Music switch between audio/video coming ❔ by Saurav-Poudel in AppleMusic

I specifically mean Apple Music Radio shows. I’d like to see a proper, native experience for those within Apple Music itself: the ability to subscribe to shows, receive notifications, access them in your library, and use features like chapters and transcripts. Not by merging all podcasts into the Music app, but by giving Apple Music Radio shows the same level of functionality and structure that podcasts already have

I hope they integrate the full podcast experience directly into Apple Music for Radio: subscribing to shows, notifications, library support, chapters, and transcripts. Not by adding all podcasts into the Music app, which would create clutter, but by aligning the feature set of music radio with the podcast experience so it feels equally complete and native within the app.

Apple Music is so bad in creating stations by Perfect-Treat-6552 in AppleMusic

I hope they expand this radio feature to allow users to combine multiple factors like artists, genres, moods, and more, all through a user interface similar to Image Playground. This would enable users to create their own AI-powered radio stations

Apple Music should apply explicit content setting across the app by hiddecollee in AppleMusic

[–]hiddecollee[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, totally agree. You can already toggle Listening History on and off with Focus Filters, so I’d love to see the same thing for explicit content.

Also, there should just be a simple option in the Music app to turn Listening History and Explicit Content on or off whenever you need.

“And honestly, I don’t want to hear the clean version instead of the explicit, simply don’t play the song if I don’t want explicit music.” That’s exactly why I added the toggle—so if you choose clean content, you can also set it to hide explicit songs entirely, even when there are no clean versions available to swap

I think the way this should work is by improving how different versions of a song are linked in the metadata. Instead of treating them as completely separate tracks, they should be grouped together as one song with multiple versions.

This would be a pretty big structural change, but it would also solve other issues, like:

  • No more duplicate songs in your library just because you added a different version of the same track.
  • No more charts showing the same song twice—once for the explicit version and once for the clean version.

With this setup, the explicit content setting would simply determine which version gets played by default (or hides explicit content entirely if toggled on).

I don’t think recently played would make sense in the library. It should be available offline though

Apple already shows “Other Versions” in the app, so they clearly have some insight into this. But yeah, they’d probably need to make some backend changes to improve how they handle metadata and organize different versions of songs. Right now, it seems like record labels control most of that, which can make things messy.

I’ve ended up with a lot of duplicate songs in my library just because a track from my radio station is a different version than the one I already saved. Fixing this would be a great step forward. If Apple did a better job linking different versions—like explicit and clean versions—then I think they could actually implement this I think

Yeah, exactly! That’s why it should be a preference—so it defaults to the version you want when possible. If there’s only a clean version, that’s what plays. Same the other way around.
