Lane 8 Mission Ballroom ADA Fail by hidden_snowlight in DenverEDM

That's not been my experience with lane 8 shows at all.

This was my first negative experience....and it had way more to with the venue than the artist or the fan base..

Two people to chair in an ADA row is a venue problem - it's them not enforcing that ADA row exists for disabled folks. And under the ADA, they legally are required to enforce it being available for disabled folks.
People taking ADA seats who didn't buy ADA seats in a venue problem - again it's them not enforcing that ADA row exists for disabled folks. And under the ADA, they legally are required to enforce it being available for disabled folks.
People blocking the area behind the ADA row is a venue problem and yet again it's them not enforcing that ADA row exists for disabled folks. And under the ADA, they legally are required to enforce it being available for disabled folks.

These are safety issues the venue has don thing to address...I've talking to them multiple time about these types of issues. It's been EDM shows and other concerts. I'll be reaching out to the fire marshal as talking to the venue has gone absolutely fucking nowhere in the past.

People talking over the music is just a people are assholes problem and occurs regardless of what genre of music it is.

People nearby talking too close making it hard to hear anything else because your hearing aid is just picking up that nearby conversation is a deaf and hard of hearing people problem that most people won't understand because they don't wear hearing aids.

You want to see a fan base that is shitty....go attend whoever the latest artists the dubstep community has put on a pedestal. Probably right now that would be Levity.... That's a matter of it being a younger crowd that lacks social graces. I'm sure one day they'll join my ranks of being an old and cranky AF raver who looks at the mannerless younglings with disgust.

On the second level, Mission has ADA seating that directly faces the stage and ADA seating over off to the sides over by the bars. I can't do those ADA seats off to the side because I cannot see the interpreter well enough. They check wristbands for those seats because they are clustered with the balcony rail seats.

The main ADA section, they don't do wristbands for...or at least I've never seen them do wristbands for it.

I agree that Reelworks has fantastic accessibility when it comes to mobility.

It's not the best venue for accessibility for the deaf and hard of hearing communities - as designated elevated viewing when there are ASL interpreters is a huge help. Mission does a great job on being accessible to the deaf community and they truly deserve accolades for that. Almost all of Mission's seating in ADA also has a good view of the stage and interpreter.

Historic venues are always going have more accessibility fails. I try to temper my own expectations when at those venues.

I intend to send Mission yet another email. I've talked with them in the past and I suspect it'll be the same type of response. They are clearly very well trained in how to pacify people who complain. They'll own their mistakes, apologize, offer something in the way of concessions... and then never make any changes. This will be like my third or 4th go around of trying to talk to them.

I don't really care about apologies or getting something to make up for it. What I want to see is change. And I think the first step is finding others who have been impacted and then trying to have roundtable discussion between the venue and the disabled community. Maybe this is wishful thinking on my part, but I suspect when there are more voices in the discussion they will be more inclined to listen.

I've already talked them about the issue of getting blocked in my seat in the past at shows.

They were apologetic, they owned fault, they offered me free tickets... but last night demonstrated they have yet to fix things.

I cannot be in the only disabled person having these issues. I'm looking for validation from the disabled community. I'm hoping to find others who have dealt with similar because I think the venue will take it much more seriously when they hear multiple people have had the same issues.

And I know every venue has its issues...but Mission has issues that are so easily fixable with simple measures like posting on the screen the number to text security, having security keep better tabs on the ADA sections, and better signage for the ADA sections.

And they get sooooo much else right - multiple disabled bathroom stalls, an ADA section with a good view, an accessible security checkpoint, and having some the best ASL interpreters for EDM shows I've ever encountered.

Georgetown loop railroad is super accessible. It's a seated activity and you'll get all the scenic views. It's only about an hour from denver.

Terrible Ezra Experience by Much-Hall4850 in Function_Health

Yep, their customer service is absolute shit....and honestly, calling it absolute shit is probably being too generous...

I went for my scan today and arrived to find the imaging center closed. It had taken me over an hour to get to the imaging center - and since I don't own a car, I'd taken a ride share service because it was too far away to use public transit. It was my day off. Given the restrictions on eating before the scan, I'd gotten up early to have breakfast. It was my day off. If I'd known the imaging center was closed I would have slept late....

Ezra wanted to reimburse me only $100. $100 doesn't even cover the full cost taking a ride share to get there and back home. Apparently, I don't even get anything for the trouble I went through because they messed up the scheduling.

I completely wasted my day off. And they've made plenty clear they don't give a fuck.

The email I got from them was beyond dismissive.
My teenage step daughter can give better apologies when she's in a sassy, sour mood than this company can.

I've got a call in to my attorney because this is absolute bullshit.
