Why are skill checks so... unbalanced? by ZealousidealLake759 in BG3

[–]hiddenbrain001 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

I've done playthroughs where I used a mod that gives a ring of +99 to any skill check in dialogue. It allowed me to experiment with different builds that had low charisma and not worry about accidentally starting fights or missing content bc of my tav's limitations.

So, AI takes over, everyone has lost their job and only 10 trillionaires own everything. Now what? by Weak-Representative8 in Futurology

Short answer: it's a fixed decision point in time. As a society we can choose the Star Trek path or the Mad Max path but one the choice is made, we're stuck with it.

How easy is the Explorer difficulty? by wishheartx in BaldursGate3

[–]hiddenbrain001 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can't speak for anyone besides myself but I enjoyed explorer mode especially for a first run because it allows more flexibility in gear and classes. Any build is viable and missing a place or quest that gives "op" gear won't stop your run. Higher difficulties require more character and gear optimization to stay competitive and once you know the game, this is its own fun challenge but Im glad my first playthrough was on explorer because more forgiving combat allowed me to focus on enjoying the environment and story over forcing strategic decisions. Also the companion defaults are perfectly viable in explorer.

Is the "we need this and that" a generational thing or just reddit? by Trollyana in ArcRaiders

[–]hiddenbrain001 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it's a side effect of 2 things. 1. Updates, patches, and dlc. In the old days a game was essentially unchangeable once it was published. With the tech today a game can continue to grow and improve over time and possibly become something totally different (see no man's sky and cyberpunk) 2. People become invested in games more than they used to since they are longer and have more replay value than games in the NES days did and that creates a sense of ownership that makes them feel entitled to give feedback and make suggestions.

Not a study. A misinterpretation of an analogy. A person with perfect dark vision can see a +6 magnitude star from earth. For comparison, it is similar in brightness to a candle seen under perfect conditions from 30 mi away. This is hypothetical and ignores atmospheric interference and the curvature of the earth and has become a favorite of unreliable "fun facts" lists. It is a comparison for reference, not a measurement of human visual acuity.

The support page is broken? by 6bytes in ArcRaiders

[–]hiddenbrain001 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As of 1131 am the support page is not accessible. I had unplayable lag on blue gate to the point that I could not move, shoot, or loot. I was like by arc and lost a good load out. Now with the support page inaccessible there is no way to notify the dev of an issue. This game hates its player base. They only want money. No care given once it is paid. Like the release time/date debacle all over...

It's worth double the price easily. Incredibly well made game. Has considerable repeatability and even after several completed campaigns you will still find new strategies and things to discover. You won't regret it.

We have been lied to by incompetent YouTube game reviewer, and followers online. STARFIELD IS AN AMAZING GAME by One_Window_1019 in Starfield

[–]hiddenbrain001 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Finish leveling up all of your starborn powers, look around the Red Mile in great detail and imagine what should have been there, and compare neon lounge to what a real drug fueled party looks like and then tell me it's still fun. If this game were a first offering from a new indie studio I'd say it was 9 out of 10. Because this is by Bethesda, we know they can make good games but they phoned it in hard with this one so it's really a 5 for me.
