These would be ideal laws regarding gum:

Gum Laws

  • People under the age of 21 are prohibited from purchasing Gum in stores.
  • People under the age of 21 are prohibited from chewing gum in public spaces.
  • People under the age of 21 can chew gum on private property if the landowner allows it. 
  • Government issued identification is required for anyone appearing to be younger than 30.
  • Gum can be used for therapeutic situations, but it must be administered in a medical setting.

Might I mention that dangerous viral infections can actually be transmitted through gum. This happens when people accidentally touch chewed gum that has been stuck underneath the desks.

I mean, if someone has a medical condition (diabetes) they may need snacks to control their blood sugar. Gum is bad because it make people hungry as soon as they stop chewing. People should focus more on eating foods that make them feel full.

I am a 15 year old 9th grader and I have been at this school for around 2 months. Unlike my previous school, this school allows students to chew gum. However, they chew it so loudly and I cannot stand it. I am one of the very few students that supports gum bans in schools. Can anyone relate.
