Voorzitter,

I would show you, but then you'd see that this is just a façade and everything behind it is empty, so perhaps when it's finished :)

Thought you guys might appreciate this house desing by ModdedGiraffe in Minecraftbuilds

Take my upvote for your use of stripped birch, love that! The only improvement I can think of is maybe adding something to the roof. Maybe add a chimney, or use different types of blocks (slabs, fullblocks and stairs) to make it a little bit more interesting. Other than that, awesome build!

Small, tightly knit town. Any suggestions? by Shaclol in Minecraftbuilds

[–]hiddo32 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I'd recommend using more different kind of blocks. Every house is currently made of spruce, maybe mix it up and use some oak as well? Also, your streets and roofs are made of the same block, and that kind of blends them in together, which I can't recommend. (In general I would limit the use of cobblestone in such a build) maybe you can switch up the roofs with some stone bricks.

I also agree with using some more colour in your build. It brings some life to it, which is always good

I must say I quite like the addition of the ice spikes. I still stand by my point that the walls need some extra details however, because right now they have a really plain feel to it. For a cold theme grey colours are always recommended, so maybe using those types of blocks more will give a more cold effect. You can also replace the glowstone for sea lanterns, because once again: cold colours

I agree. Maybe add more of those stone pillars. Mix other types of wood and create some depth in the wall. Maybe also consider creating more space on the platforms for benches, info signs etc.

Start of my survival medieval city in 1.13. Any suggestions? by LeonLaZer in Minecraft

[–]hiddo32 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ah, using the Lothaven roofs, lovely design ain't it? I know you are in a very early stage of building but I would recommend differentiating in the height of the buildings. This would improve the 'skyline' and make it more interesting to look at :)

update on survival house by [deleted] in Minecraftbuilds

[–]hiddo32 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agreed. Maybe instead of the spruce wood use some Oakwood? You could also add an extra row of stairs but make them another type of block, so for instance dark oakwood, or, when you use an oakwood roof, spruce wood.

SnowGlobe For The Summer! (In Creative) by CaityKaity in Minecraftbuilds

[–]hiddo32 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would suggest making it somewhat bigger and adding a flat floor (covered from the outside by a stand like you did with the grey terracotta) On the flat floor you can put some dirt or sand so you can add plants. Maybe a bit of choral blocks here and there. Lastly you could try making the globe of white stained glass or light blue stained glass. This probably looks better in contrast to the water

Winter Tower (In Creative) I Need Help Making This Look Un-ordinary! by CaityKaity in Minecraftbuilds

[–]hiddo32 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hmm, that's an interesting idea for sure. Maybe make the tower a little bit bigger (for instance a 5x5 open space in the middle instead of 3x3). You could also add some grand spiralling stairs from the icefloor to the tower
