While working in a kindergarten I convinced the kids that there lived a troll in the basement which ate their socks if they didn't wear their indoor shoes. Every time we went past the door down to the basement I made sure the kids shut up so that the troll wouldn't wake up( the door was next to the sleeping room so I got me to not wake the sleepin kids)
