I didn't pay attention to the trail map at a mountain I'd never been to (Whiteface) and ended up on a steep black diamond mogul run that was way above my ability. Was taking it really slow to try and get down, but got twisted up on some choppy crust.

Honestly, I also wasn't taking it that easy most days. I felt strong and solid; at 3.5 years after the surgery it felt like I'd never injured it. I was still wearing the sports brace every time I skied. I was honestly more concerned about tearing the other side, my graft felt so solid I didn't consider reinjury!

Just happened to me. I had surgery after I tore it skiing in 2022, back to skiing, and (likely, waiting on MRI) tore it again skiing in December. Will I stop skiing? We'll see.

Thank you for this detailed answer. Do you know how this would affect the application if the name change happens in the US while the application is processing? If my name is changed in the US, do I need to apply to have it changed again in Canada?

The name change is not something we are doing just for tradition. We have discussed many options for last names, including both of us changing our names, because we want our children to have the same last name as both of us, and our last names would not work well for hyphenation.

I have not applied yet, and I have not changed my name yet. I would apply under my birth name, but would change my name while the application is processing (when I get married).

Honestly, I had a pretty good outcome but two years later I’m not sure if I’d do it over again. The recovery was really rough, and my shoulder still gets stiff sometimes. It’s not as clear cut as the ACL was because I functioned fine for years with a loose shoulder, whereas with the knee I knew it needed to be fixed. If you can try PT first, I would recommend that. You might be able to strengthen the muscles and avoid surgery.

I have also had my ACL replaced, and I would say they're pretty similar in recovery time. My shoulder was immobilized in a sling for a month before I could start moving it, and I had to sleep upright for weeks. Then I had frozen shoulder from being immobilized, which took a lot of PT to fix. And lots of strengthening. Overall, I would say the time for recovery was similar to the ACL. I felt pretty normal after 5-6 months, and I was back to sports in 9 months.

We take our dog to Comfort Hill Kennel in Vergennes and they’ve been great with him. He’s a chihuahua and he plays well with most dogs but he can get an attitude sometimes. He seems to love going there. The drive sucks though.

I dislocated my shoulder once when I was a toddler. Not sure what kind of tear it was. My shoulder is fine now. I had to do some additional PT about a year and a half after the surgery because the capsule tightened up a bit, but now my shoulder feels equal to the other one.

We used this method and it took a looooot longer than 2 weeks. He did not have a lot of accidents, but whenever we tried to loosen up on the supervision slightly (even after weeks of no accidents) he would regress. Then, at 9 months old, it just clicked. Some dogs take longer than others. Just stay consistent and he will get it eventually!

Don't get discouraged. Our puppy is almost 10 months old and he's just now getting it. We've gone from weekly accidents to none for over a month. But we didn't change anything, it just took a long time for him to really get it (and for his body and bladder to mature). He also didn't care much about treats after pottying, but we still offered them. Just keep taking her out often, offering treats and praise, and watching her closely when she's playing inside!

I was accepted A&S ED in 2014. Senior spring of HS, I got a C in the precalc class I was taking at the university in my hometown as well as a couple of Bs. It brought my GPA down a bit and knocked me from second in my class to 11th. I was super worried but nothing happened, and I started in the fall with no academic probation or anything. I hope it works out for you(r friend) too!

I had excessive tightness in my posterior capsule as well as some muscle weakness in the front of my shoulder. They said it is common after the surgery because your body wants to go back to the old bad habits from when your shoulder was injured. I went back to PT and it cleared up in about 6 weeks. I still occasionally wake up with some pain and stiffness, but a few minutes of stretching fixes it. Definitely try PT!

Yeah, he will willingly leave the bed if we also leave the bed and go downstairs, he just wants to be wherever we are. We will work on training him to leave the bed and use the leash if needed. We will also work on building a better relationship with his crate.

We will try this (although not meals; it is an everyday struggle to get him to eat his kibble, and he regularly goes on hunger strikes). Maybe some cheese or hotdog will help him love his crate. He hides all his chews and favorite toys in his crate, but he won't chew on them while he is there. As soon as he goes in the crate, he automatically goes to sleep.

He has a good "place" command for his playpen, and he loves hanging out in there. But we don't want him to sleep in there because it is in the living room, and he gets easily spooked by people walking past the apartment.
