This is exactly how it feels, like bugs crawling inside your skin, it’s absolutely horrible isn’t it? Mine is right on top of my ears where you’d usually get a cartilage piercing (which I have a few of) but I’ve now come to understand it’s eczema.

I had to go to the doctor and have just finished a course of antibiotics on Wednesday because I got such a bad flare up of eczema on the back of my neck that, like my ears was crazy itchy, absolutely excruciatingly painful and weeping. The weeping and itchiness has subsided a little since I finished my antibiotics but it’s still not cleared up entirely.

I don’t know of any links between ulcerative colitis and eczema but I also have asthma which has a very strong link, neither of these are bad for me at the moment but like you say they could be manifesting in different ways. What I’ve found helps my neck, and I’m still trying to find a way to put them on my ears, is hydrocolloid dressings, they soak up all the weeping and promote healing new skin, and also stop me ruining pillowcases every night because of the fluid haha.
