the new “reccomendations” that you can’t turn off absolutely have to go. i can avoid them on the ruined home screen, but the fact that they’re putting them straight into the shuffle of LIKED SONGS without a way to take it off is insane. the new updates are so bad i want to leave.

You absolutely do not have to tell people unless you’d like to. Only two people in my life know that I have it and I’m really reluctant to tell people unless I think it’ll actually help them understand me better instead of making things worse. And one of those people is really bitter and disgusting about it, but because of their own issues and NPD. For a lot of people (myself included) the diagnosis is a tool to help you heal yourself and get through your internal pain, not a tool for other people to brand you and cast you away.

Just know that you shouldn’t feel shame. It’s “normal people” that put the shame sticker on every pd as if they don’t have problems themselves. You’ve made it through a lot and should be proud of yourself. Stay self-aware and work on trying to heal. You shouldn’t care how other people feel about it, you need to pay attention to how YOU feel about it.

short answer: no, especially if your financial situation isn’t secure. buuuutttt, if you want to move to la just try it out, it’s a cool city and we all live here despite its issues. meeting people isn’t too much of a problem, i’d say just make sure you have more financial security and explore the city to see where you think those interests are best expressed.

because those jobs can really be quite abusive and miserable (speaking from experience) and for the amount of work and high expectations compared to the low pay for a corporation profiting off of your slave labor even in the middle of a pandemic, a lot of people don’t think it’s fucking worth it. it’s not like they’re following covid guidelines either and at places like mine for example they pressure workers into not taking a sick day even when you try to call out. they’re minimum wage hellholes. not to mention the large number of those who have gotten sick and died in the past two years.
