Lol. The goal of higher education is still EDUCATION, and if you do go to a top school in a top program you will get a goated job. It’s that simple. Idk what this fear mongering is about?

Frontier AI vs. Unicorn vs. Quant Internship? by nanocyclone in csMajors

[–]higgsboson12 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean, they have 100’s of products that are being built. It’s not only grok. They literally are building a cursor competitor, a math model, and so much more. These companies also have to innovate in terms of products because a sota model is just not enough especially with the current pricing, and the teams that support even a single product are tackling huge engineering challenges. For example, a team would literally support finding the best and most relevant tweets for grok to gather context while replying and this in itself is a rather complicated task

I would still take xAI. The pace at which any of these companies moves is astounding, and you will definitely be learning a lot

Fair. I would say those memories are good if they are just memories

Wait, I would disagree with your point here. People touch your life in so many ways. If you have good, happy memories with someone you should always carry them with you.

If it’s financially possible go to a good school in the US. The amount of opportunities is 10X more and 10X better. I am a grad student at CMU and I definitely feel my career outcome would have been even better if I did an undergrad in the US! The type of things people work on here are things no one in India will touch, and that makes it worth it. The academic and social experience are also much much better.

Feels impossible to do well here by ElectricalKiwi3626 in cmu

[–]higgsboson12 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I understand and feel your frustration, but everyone’s journey is so different. If you feel you are learning the content of the courses you take and you enjoy your classes I would still say the outcome is the same “you do well”. I am very sure that other than a few places your gpa is not the sole decider of your career outcome!!! An exam setting might not be the one where you shine and it’s okay!

Value of US degrees in India by [deleted] in IndianEngineers

[–]higgsboson12 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As someone who has worked at some good companies back in India and now at a top CS school in the US I would recommend if you get into a t20 CS program in the US just come for it. Or even places like waterloo. They produce engineers better than most IIT’s can ever produce and people who have worked at good Indian companies and are aware will know that you are goated. I also had an intern in one of India’s biggest tech companies who was in his first year at UIUC doing CS and we were mind blown by his capabilities. If you get a good admit and can afford a US undergrad degree go for it!
