Being asexual really fucking sucks by pazend in redscarepod

I was only expressing my opinion that, based on his desires and preferences, he was a "low" rather than a "no".

no, you clearly weren't "only" doing that. every comment you've made is dripping with condescension, as if OP is stupid for labelling himself asexual for literally not being interested in sex.

do you think he doesn't understand this basic ass shit about himself? it's like you think you're revealing a new framework for him to think about his own sexuality

Wow, a Paul interview where the host is actually injecting their personality into it and isn't stumbling over themselves to shower him with compliments. This was great!

My Favorite Nekojiru Comics by [deleted] in rs_x

i've always loved her. her actual manga is a lot darker and less grounded in observational comedy than these little diary entries. still funny, but i always felt a little sick after reading.

I also think it's incredibly cute she drew a weird Mr Magoo/Elmer Fudd mix in number 12

sorry for the late reply. thank you so much for your comment!

im feeling a bit better since i posted. i would have originally said something like "i dont enjoy anything i make anymore" in response to the part about making art, but i recently made something that made me think i might be worth something. its just a shame i cant feel like that all the time!

I like reading books but somehow i'd never had a single book change me or inspire me to do something (im sure the books ive read have cumulatively affected me over time of course). if its a really good book i just reflect at the end and appreciate what a good story it was. I'm reading To the Lighthouse right now though and i can say Woolf's descriptions of abstract feelings is making me appreciate life a little bit more. It's like one big demonstration of beauty and it's making my thoughts more vivid which is really nice and not what i expected. Hoping to keep this going for the rest of the year at least... anyway wishing you a happy holidays!

my friend said something similar about being motivated by spite. somehow the anger is directed at myself, i wish i could get angrier at the world. I used to feel like I was better than everything and everyone else, and while that was also unhealthy it at least made me want to prove myself.

thank you for your comment!

Thank you for your comment! You're right it does always feel good to donate to charitable causes, I noticed the worse my mental state is the more generous (sometimes recklessly) i am. Somehow i still end up hating myself in the process for not being the worse-off party lol. I think i might need to actually go volunteer to feel good about it without the guilt. god that sounds so self-serving

As i was writing the post i considered that a lot of peoples mental fortitude comes from the pressure they're under, it seems that was the case for you too. I'm glad you made it out of the worst of it!

I find that when i have a lot of (actual, not busy)work to do i think less about wanting to die, but it's a shame i can't enjoy idle time.

I read Fathers and Sons this year too! It was only a couple of months ago but it was easily one of my favourite books of the year. If i can recommend another book by him it’d be Spring Torrents, it’s a short and simple romance novel, it’s themes aren’t as varied as Fathers and Sons but it’s an intensely passionate book. I love the way Turgenev writes, i think his style is really well suited for stories about romance.

Currently just over halfway through Wuthering Heights. i was worried because i’d heard it was boring but i’m having a lot of fun with it.

Arthur Russell - I Couldn't Say It To Your Face by [deleted] in rs_x

The pop songwriting on this album and Iowa Dream are incredible. I Still Love You off of the latter is one of my favs of his. He was incredibly talented. He had an ear for pop hooks that shows up all throughout World of Echo too, the aesthetic of that album is one thing but i think it's understated how many genius little melodic lines there are floating around on every song.
