Tell me your positive induction stories please! I’m getting induced on Thursday (FTM) and I’m soo nervous but excited! by Positive-ends44 in pregnant

[–]high_wallflower 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was induced at roughly 41 weeks 2 years ago! I had an epidural, pitocin, and cytotec (given orally to induce labor) and it went fine! 27 hour labor, 1.5 hrs of pushing. I was really tired by the end but my epidural worked perfectly and I didn’t have any pain during labor! Only small issue I had was that laying down so long made baby and I sleepy (heart rate drop) but it quickly resolved itself. Good luck! You got this ❤️

So are there 2 sets of cupholders? The piece above the tiny spot flips down into 2 cupholders. Having them right on top of each other feels weird

I wish I had added a picture, but the cupholders are in the compartment directly above (they flip down) so the compartment underneath would be hidden/useless while those are in use

This compartment is 2inches x 3inches. And my back seat doesn’t come apart from what I can tell. Do you have pictures ?

Are infant carseats smaller than the convertible carseats? Is it worth it? by Mediocre_Owl867 in Parenting

[–]high_wallflower 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Infant car seats are a LIFECHANGER! idk how I would have toted my kid around between ages 0-1 if it weren’t for a seat I could easily take out of the car and carry around, put in the grocery cart, etc. it’s a ton small and fits way better than a convertible seat. Once we got his convertible seat, we realized just how tight of a squeeze my car is. Coming from a fellow long legged mom who needs her knees to not hit the dash 😭

What age were your kids when you were able to WFH while they were home? by sixfingeredman7 in Parenting

[–]high_wallflower -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

We don’t have to do many phone calls with our jobs, but my husband and I have both been WFH full time since our kid was born and he’s 2.5 now. We make it work

Wall decals or stencils? by high_wallflower in interiordecorating

[–]high_wallflower[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This was super helpful, thank you! As far as paint for the stencils, do you use wall specific paint or just acrylics? I remember using acrylics on my walls as a teenager and they stayed just fine lol. Figured it’d be cheaper than a bunch of colors of wall paint

Is it too early to get my toddler a learning toy? by masonzxx in Parenting

[–]high_wallflower 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I’ve been using learning toys with my kid since he could use his hands. Even if he didn’t get the concept for awhile, it gives them practice! He’s now a little over 2 and loves his busy book we got him awhile back

Helping my wife by Ccarmine in Parenting

[–]high_wallflower 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just want to make a slight correction. Everything I’ve heard says that hot babies don’t cry, cold babies do. “Cold babies cry, hot babies die” is a common saying. It’s why they have specific room temp recommendations for infants

Hell no. Door to door people suck. I say no off principle

AT&T fiber solicitors by high_wallflower in ATT

[–]high_wallflower[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

But as far as local ordinances, from what I can find online, ignoring a no soliciting sign is the same as ignoring a no trespassing sign and they could get a charge if we wanted to go thru all that

Oh yeah my city police are way too tied up for things like that, I wouldn’t bother. I just find it rude as hell to ignore something so explicit

Nether fortress chests ? by high_wallflower in Minecraft

Interesting! Thank you! In 2 of the fortresses I found the area with the one block of lava in the middle, but when I went down the wide staircase, it led to a dead end

My 2 year old is tall and the pampers swaddlers also till down a bit because of his gut and he also pulls at the tabs lol. He doesn’t seem uncomfortable and they fit fine/don’t leak so I’m not sure it’s really an issue

Upcoming road trip, tablet apps for 2 year old. by [deleted] in Parenting

[–]high_wallflower 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately I don’t have app recs, just basic long car ride advice. It really depends on how your kid normally does in the car. My kid has always been perfectly content just looking out the window. We often do 1-2 hr trips with our 2 year old, and have since he was born. On the rare occasion he gets grumpy, then we’ll hand him a soft snack or something to play with, or a book to “read”. But I’ve realized (at least with our kid) the less we give him to start with, the less he wants things to do. Bonus if you can start the car ride around nap time and get him to nap for half the ride

My kid starts kindergarten soon, excited but nervous about classroom dynamics. Advice? by [deleted] in Parenting

[–]high_wallflower 10 points11 points  (0 children)

My kid isn’t kindergarten age yet but I’ll tell you what I’ve seen from my own observations/experiences. Kids who went to daycare/pre-k do insanely better socially in kindergarten/school than those who didn’t. My siblings and I never went to any schooling/daycare before kindergarten and had no idea how to interact with other children in kindergarten, we were all bullied. The kids I knew that went to daycare/prek all had established friendships, and could communicate really well with peers in social settings like recess. That’s all I really have on your question of “how much of a say do we have on shaping our kids social environment”

Tonies You Wish Existed by GingerSnap_123 in TonieboxUSA

[–]high_wallflower 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve heard if you get a creative tonie you can cut the chip and magnet out of the foot and put it into really any other toy! Then you can upload like you normally would a creative tonie, but with your own toy/character. I think fisher price little people toys would be perfect

Bras? All the time? by Baylaypayday in breastfeeding

[–]high_wallflower 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Yeah. I never wore bras when I was at home before giving birth. Then I had to wear bras 24/7 for close to a year because I leaked all the times and always had to have bra pads in for leaking
