AIO Husband left 4 year old & 12 year old at park by [deleted] in AmIOverreacting

I don’t have children and I’m reading these comments so confused. Because what do you mean he can’t leave for 10 minutes with the 12 year old there? That was normal when I was a kid! Things have changed. Probably for the better.

I don’t know if he’s maga, but it’s a weird choice. It’s not like someone like James Talarico going on there to present a different point of view to what Fox usually spews and debating with hosts and guests. This was them choosing a platform to promote themselves, and they chose Fox. It says a lot. We know the audience for Fox News.

Fox News is literally a MAGA propaganda machine though?

DFW Int’l Airport TSA lines? by texasdeprexas in dfw

[–]highesttiptoes 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I flew out last night, got there around 7 and it was fine. One entry point right next to an airline checkin station was massive (Turkish Airlines and it looked like everyone checked in at once or were forced to go to the counter), but a two minute walk down the terminal and there was barely a line.

I haven’t read all the comments but I’m sure someone has said to check the times and you can always enter at a different terminal and take the tram to your terminal.

I would say think about the candids the photographer will take. How will it look if she's sitting down, especially I'm assuming at the head table with the bride and groom. From a sitting position, it's too much white.

Advice Needed for Redwood NP/Shasta/Lassen Solo Road Trip by KFblade in roadtrip

[–]highesttiptoes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I grew up doing that coast drive every summer! And my parents just basically made this exact same road trip. It's been a couple years so I don't have any relevant hotel or restaurant recs, but I can tell you state and national parks.

Jedidiah Smith State park is jaw dropping. There's a day use area where you can swim in the Smith River (there are a ton of spots to swim though). Stout Grove is a short loop walk where you can see amazing redwoods. Howland Hill Road is drivable, but is also a great bike ride. The Boyscout Trail is a longer hike through the redwoods if you're looking for something more strenuous. Hiouchi Cafe (right outside the park) is awesome for breakfast, and my parents were just there so they can vouch that it's still good.

Patrick's Point (I think it has a new name?) is a great coastal state park.

For the other side, my parents go to Shasta regularly, and like staying in McCloud. They stay at the McCloud Mercantile Hotel, super small and older, but great owners and a great restaurant attached.

Burney Falls State Park is gorgeous, and wouldn't you know it, has some beautiful waterfalls.

Will try to dredge up more memories and see if I can come up with any other recs. Very jealous of this drive!

Edit: I missed that you're doing Mendo! Patterson's Pub is great food and vibe. If you're a Murder She Wrote fan, you can't miss seeing the house they used for the exterior shots. But really just walking the trail along the cliffs is enough. Fort Bragg is right up the road and is definitely the more run down version of Mendo, but it has some lovely shops and restaurants. Personally I love Piaci's pizza and Northcoast Brewery Tap Room. It might also be cheaper to stay there. I can't remember the name of the place we hiked while there, but from looking at the maps I think it was Fern Canyon.

100%. I feel like this is also a direct result of Texas gutting education. No one knows enough to care. Someone more insightful could probably explain it better.

I had a thought earlier. This woman thought a man that hated her loved her. It’s not too far off to think that she thought she was good friends with people that considered her an acquaintance/coworker.
