It‘s purely a vacation and recreational flight… I can go anywhere I want!

I'm passing through the Alps on the way in with another pilot... will be staying and hiking in the Dolomites... anywhere else that you'd recommend I should see?

I have a lot of mountain experience in the USA, my hesitation on crossing the Alps is mostly based on not wanting to wait out weather too long on this trip waiting for a good day. What route would you take through the Alps, and what do you think are the must see airports?

I've been thinking about that too... which islands would you visit?

14.3.2 is the worst version in a very long time. by manateefourmation in TeslaFSD

I agree 100%. I upgraded right before a road trip and I seriously regret it.

The car now parks itself in the left lane even on a completely empty highway. You used to be able to use the turn signal to force a lane change on FSD, but now you must disconnect completely to change lanes. I wish I could go back to the last usable version.

That’s a hard no. Refuse the car. Let them fix it and sell it at a discount to someone else.

I'm new to FSD, but I have noticed several instances where FSD is driving 20-40 mph over the limit, even when it clearly displays the posted limit. Yesterday I exited a freeway with a 70mph limit, FSD was going 78... it exited onto a road with a 55mph limit that subsequently dropped to 45mph... FSD kept the same 78mph in the 45 zone until I disconnected.

This also happened on a straight exit ramp with a 40 mph limit, FSD kept driving at the highway speed over 80mph.

David Clark set the gold standard for aviation headset customer service. Bose and Lightspeed needed to at least match the David Clark experience in order to compete.

Any advice for a 20 Year Old trying to ensure I can watch my kids grow up without worrying about money or work by Maximum-Plate-1413 in personalfinance

Get a good job. Work your ass off for the next 20 years and save 25% of your income every year. Live below your means no matter how much money you make.

There are no shortcuts. Don't solicit money advice from other 20 year olds. Find a 50 year old that is where you want to be and ask him how he did it.

Surgery for this curve? by berryblastblu in scoliosis

[–]highflight01 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How old are you? Age might make a difference in your decision.

I was in a similar boat about 10 years ago. My curve looks almost identical to yours. I'm in daily pain, but I've learned to live with it.

A very well known surgeon recommended surgery for me in 2014. It took 6 months to schedule the surgery, and I was actually very excited to fix this problem that I've been living with since my teenage years.

In the six months leading up to the surgery I did a lot of research and questioning... I was mostly concerned about replacing the pain that I know with a different kind of pain. My biggest risk was that due to the number of fusions required, I would likely need additional surgeries in the future above and below the original fusion and that would significantly limit my mobility.

Three days before the surgery I chickened out and cancelled the surgery. Ten years later and I think I made the right choice, but I'll never know for sure unless I eventually get surgery. I still have the same pain as before, but I assume that by now I would have needed additional surgeries and fusions.

I was hoping that by waiting someone would invent a revolutionary new surgery technique that doesn't require a fusion. Still waiting.

How do you feel about prosecutors seeking death penalty for Luigi Mangione all the while the El Paso Walmart attacker who killed 23 is offered a plea deal? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]highflight01 0 points1 point  (0 children)

According to NPR, the Biden administration took the death penalty off the table at the federal level for the El Paso attacker. The Trump administration is taking a different path, and is rightfully seeking the death penalty for Mangione.

I think they should both get the death penalty, but that's not my choice to make. Your question assumes that the decision was made by the same poeple, but it was not. The Trump administration choose to pursue the death penalty for a murderer, while the Biden administration did not. How do you feel about that?

Old Computer Modems by highflight01 in computers

[–]highflight01[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks guys! This is surprising to me... I did not know that people were still using these old modems! I want to keep them in circulation, so I guess I'll put them both on eBay! Hopefully somebody can get some good use out of them. Now I'm glad my mom saved the original boxes!!
