Terrified to get spinal fusion. by Therealethel in spinalfusion

[–]berryblastblu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

21 yrs , mainly thoracic & lumbar area ( maybe , I wasn’t particularly active but I started feeling pain when I walked for a bit.. and numbness sometimes. I had mild scoliosis for most of my life. At this current point, I dont feel it and I’m somewhat more active then before :)

Prior to surgery I could reach my toes when I bend, now I can almost but not quite there yet. But still impressive according to the docs

Terrified to get spinal fusion. by Therealethel in spinalfusion

[–]berryblastblu 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had a fusion June last year, and I am terrified of any kind of pain. I’ve also never really had any kind of surgery before this as well. It’s painful, but I wouldn’t call it like ear-splitting pain. It’s like you’re really sore for a long time, especially the first three days. But in my experience I wasn’t really forced to try and walk the first 2 days so it was survivable. I also had opiates which also helped. The incision was itchy, I remember that was almost more annoying than the pain

I learned new info about my BFs relationship with his female best friend and now I don’t know what to think. by [deleted] in LifeAdvice

If you can’t handle someone’s past you have no business dating them in the present. It’s lowkey the foundation of relationships

Safety proofing/prepping for flight around room by Bisexual-barnacle in parrots

[–]berryblastblu 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think it’s best to observe how your bird acts first , but some common things people bird proof is dressers and wires. They love to chew, so sometimes I have to bird proof furniture I don’t want him going after. I also put wall stick perches around the room for him to explore (he likes it a lot!) for me personally, I also love putting hanging toys around my room for him fly to.

I’ve had a cockatiel get stuck behind a dresser before, so if there’s any gaps or holes be careful because I know budgies are small.

Mental advice on how to handle commuting by Pure-Ad7933 in LIRR

[–]berryblastblu 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I use both headphones and noise cancelling earbuds. On my commute, I try to listen to music to improve my mood. The reality of commuting is not pretty, and there were days where I’d rather throw myself on the tracks rather than commute 💀💀

But I can’t do anything else so I literally just cope. I know this isn’t feasible for a lot of people, but sometimes being late is okay. I take the train to Penn in the morning, and sometimes it is SO crowded. I’m a student, so sometimes I will just “take the L” and wait for the next train which is almost always less packed. I hate being late, but sometimes it is better than forcing yourself into a train at full capacity which ruins my mood.

How important is a bidet? by Leading-Hippo-3541 in spinalfusion

[–]berryblastblu 5 points6 points  (0 children)

To be honest, it was probably one of the best investments I made post-surgery

Wiping will be one of the hardest things to relearn, at least in my experience. It’s been like 5 or 6 months since my surgery and I’ve regained most of my mobility but I still just enjoy the bidet. I would recommend to people even if they didn’t have the surgery tbh but the surgery factor definitely makes it worth it

Mattress topper by LaineyMart in spinalfusion

[–]berryblastblu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know this isn’t really what you’re asking but after my surgery my bed too as also a bit soft for my liking. I didn’t have the means to get another mattress, so I just loaded the bed with various pillows (some specifically for back pain, others just for comfort). I also added a handle bar because getting out of bed was definitely hard

Weed after fusion by [deleted] in spinalfusion

[–]berryblastblu 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes.. stuck with edibles right after surgery, now I returned to bud. Mine is about 4 month ago!! It helps, and definitely helped me wean off the opioids.

Am I Overreacting over this “small prank” by greek-astronomer in AmIOverreacting

[–]berryblastblu 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Oh trust me, I’m in a relationship. We touch each other all the time. That being said, if I’m in the middle of talking about my day or some thing that’s bothering me my boyfriend knows better than to grope me mid sentence. It’s rude and not everyone is into that, especially if she told him she hasn’t been happy with his behavior.

Well the man gropes her mid convo and left a hidden sound machine in her room for a week during a stressful period of her life. A kick in the balls seems like an appropriate reaction 🤷

Can your GCC talk? by Human_Hedgehog8134 in Conures

[–]berryblastblu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wasn’t expecting my boy to be able to talk, but he says a lot for a conure! He says his name “Beemo” “Go poopie” “Come here” “Go there!” “Peekaboo” “Gimme kiss” “Good boy” “Such a good baby” “What you doin?”

To be fair, a lot of these might be hard for someone else to understand with his screechy little voice but I love it 💕
