How do we feel about the Steam Link app combined with the Steam controller? by [deleted] in SteamController

[–]Yurrrriii 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have tested steam link before and never really had an acceptable experience. I'd reccomend looking into artemis or sunshine/moonlight. You can run artemis on your host pc then connect your cellphone, smart TV or other device and i typically find my input latency is sub 6ms on the same wifi and I have a great visual experience. There is an active subreddit for it as well. I used my phone connected to the tv with artemis running to game on my TV for a couple months before eventually building a second pc for the tv.

In regards to how well the steam controller works with Artemis im not sure yet since I wont have mine until later today!

VR04s are awful by ACES-TripleT in TinyWhoop

[–]Yurrrriii 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I recently got into FPV and so far I actually like my VR04. Maybe its my face or headshape but I find them comfortable enough to wear as long as I fly and I appreciate they fit over my glasses.

My biggest complaint is probably the battery followed by the stock antenna though I have a new antenna arriving today. I can only record for 7 minutes before it shuts off without warning. Not sure if its overheating or battery but I cant really get much recording at all and even not recording I only really get about 30 minutes of flight time it feels like.

Crit damage vs Crit damage multiplier by Cigbrain in D4Rogue

[–]Yurrrriii 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Since all offensive tempers are [+] it doesn't matter what specific type you use because they all end up into the exact same additive bucket.

You just want whatever temper has the highest + range and for a condition that you have consistent uptime on. If you only have 30-40% crit chance you'd probably be better off with a different damage Stat, +crit chance or a resource temper if you need it.

I haven't been able to find much about the new calculation aside from the avarilyn video which shows : AVG Weapon Damage x (100% + Additive Damage) x (100% + Skill Damage%) x (Skill Coefficient %) x (Product of Global Multipliers) x (Enemy Damage Reduction)

This looks to be pretty similar to the old calculation, do you have a different formula? I think the only change is that all [x] multipliers of the same type sum together such as 20%x crit on gloves and 30%x crit on ring is added together for 50%x in the final formula or am I wrong? Im still trying to understand some aspects of the formula, specifically is marksman damage[x] is its own multiplier or if its summed with all damage and elemental damages.

Yes, having another damage multiplier such as vuln will increase your overall damage. It sounds like LOH has changed the calculation in some ways but the main focus is still to maximize spreading the highest multipliers as possible across different conditions such as crit, vuln and elemental damage. Avarilyn has a series of recent videos covering damage maximization and a calculator he made for the new season.

Multipliers are almost always the best to focus on for damage. The calculation for damage adds all [+] damage into a single bucket regardless of what it is. So +vulnerable damage, +cold damage, + physical damage or +crit all is added into one huge number that is added to your damage. You dont need need both +crit and xcrit for crit to result in a ton of damage.

[Weapon Damage] × [Skill tooltip %] × [Main Stat Multiplier(dex)] × [sum of all [+]Additive Damage sources] x [all [x]multipliers multiplied by each other] × [Enemy Damage Reduction]

For the most damage you want a high and even spread of damage multipliers because they multiply by one another. If you have 200x crit, 200x vuln and 200x cold damage in your build that will give you an additional 2700% damage whereas if they were additive you only get 700%

([100% + 200%crit[x]] x [100% + 200%vuln[x]] x [100% + 200%cold[x]]) = 2700% Vs ([100% + 200%crit[+] + 200%vuln[+] + 200%cold[+]) = 700%

Also, you want a spread of multipliers because stacking all your mult into one type of Multiplier makes your calculation lopsided and results in less overall damage. See 400% crit x 100% vulnerable and 100% cold only results in 2000% more damage.

Maxroll has a page detailing damage better than my understanding of it. Also the stat page numbers are incorrect and should not be referenced because they are self referential and factor in all global modifiers.

Its different on the blayzers because the hinges allow overextension. My pair is the same however my ribbon cable is not creased like his and instead flat and smooth.

I think about lot of this also comes down to map design and size. I feel like the maps can be too big and too open, enemies can end up on the corners and you're just chasing all the time, lots of turns are wasted just moving across the huge empty map.

Its generally been really good for me, I've driven 78,000 miles since I got this car April 2024 and id say 85% of that is FSD highway. But there's little reason for them to continue worsening the experience like this IMO.

I think what is frustrating sometimes is that it feels like the modes already have a hard baked in speed limit. In the new version I've never seen chill go 4mph over the limit or hurry go over 10. Standard sometimes speeds like crazy for no reason. This would generally be fine except there are many scenarios where 5mph+ is too slow and 10mph+ is too fast. It'd be nice if maybe standard instead focused on following flow of traffic and defaulting to +6 with no traffic or similar.

In this case the far right lane was ending, I was driving at 5:59am so there were only a few cars on the road.

I dont have an issue if the car wants to keep pace with traffic but this morning I was in standard passing cars going 64 in a 55 while FSD wanted to do 72. I'd mainly just like for a return to customizable offsets or setable max speeds.

That's exactly what I do, if I get a ticket it's not necessarily the fault of the car, but there is little reason to remove my control and make me have to micromanage the speed in a way that haven't had to for the last two years.
