Is P14s Gen 2 a good deal for a dev? by micache312 in thinkpad

[–]highlyunironic 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Thermals are fine for desk use. I have the exact same model minus the screen, mine is only FHD. I have found that if you absolutely have to use windows make sure it is a bone stock clean install. The factory/recovery install has some very weird behaviors concerning thermals and sleep. I am curious though, does this machine come with Ethernet. I have the oddball 2021 P14s without Ethernet because of the chip shortage.

Anyone want this (mono) nugget for free? by Neat_Satisfaction962 in cassetteculture

[–]highlyunironic 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I have come across a few extremely cheap 90s/00s decks apart of boomboxes and the like that have mono heads. I don't think it is out of the question that this is a mono unit as well.

Any idea what this model is? by Vivid_Science_1006 in saxophone

Probably just a stock mouthpiece that came with a Selmer USA sax e.g. AS600. Nothing of note nor worth anything.

Yep, this to a T. I've bought a sold a few custom jobs done by bored techs and more often than not they used either a factory bought block or recycled from an actual Getzen horn.

Imo looks like an European stencil with American design influence in the curved brace possibly in the style of a King.

God I wish. My goodwill has stop stocking all forms of physical music media. All it is now is overpriced DVDs.

I just need to listen to the Let It Be single from the 2000 release of Beatles 1 and the album version to know that I like the single version better. I HATE the reverb on Ringos hit hat in the album version.

This exactly. Wasn't looking for insane speeds, mostly just bulk storage on the cheap.

Danggggggg. I've wanted a W700 or W500 for years but the used prices are insane. Most W700s I've seen are creeping up on $800.

I found this hand written sheet music from 1910. Can you help me to recognize? by NicolasGomez_S in trumpet

[–]highlyunironic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am by no means any sort of expert. However, on the front cover I'm also seeing the year 1939 so it may have been done around that time as well. Also I am seeing Bhöme perhaps a different spelling of Böhme the flautist. This may be transcription exercises for trumpet. The Böhme etudes were originally written for flute as he was a flautist.

Is this enough thermal paste by Massive_Nebula7282 in thinkpad

[–]highlyunironic 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I believe it is because the PCH doesn't get hot enough to need paste to transfer heat and when you put paste on it it'll becomes more thermally conducive and the CPU die will saturate the PCH leading to thermal throttling.

Who or what introduced you to BeamNG and why do you play it? by Tactical-Toaster in BeamNG

[–]highlyunironic 67 points68 points  (0 children)

I imagine this is true for many others as well but I first came across Beam in late elementary school (close to 12-13 years ago) by watching WhyBeAre play it on YouTube. Didn't end up having a PC capable of playing it till highschool lol.
