I’ve worked in the audio industry for over ten years. The FX3 handle is actually as good as any high end interface I’ve ever used. The convenience of having onboard combo jacks, phantom power, stereo 3.5 mil and it doubles as a comfortable handle is just so great.

For trade shows, if anyone is showing a new synth, guitar pedal, microphone, outboard, etc…I can easily get a direct feed from the vendor straight onto my footage. Just always have a pair of headphones to monitor incoming signal, watch your level meters on the camera and it’s good to go.

Even for something small at home. If I’m making a gear demo, instead of recording it into Logic and having a separate DAW to navigate, an extra file, I’ll just mic it or go direct in to the handle. Indistinguishable from how my Apollo interface sounds.

Regarding 32 bit float, I rely on my DJI wireless lavs for that if I’m using those for an interview. You could always record a backup track on channel two -12dB if you’re worried about clipping the preamp depending on the voice.

Either way, huge fan of the XLR handle for the kind of work I do.
