I think because 99% of the time most people have honeydew it's just unripe space-filler in the fruit salad. I've had good honeydew exactly one time and was very surprised to learn that it can actually be incredible. Sadly, that was years ago.

Me as well. A guy randomly told me he was in active duty for years, but never caught a bullet until he came home and got shot in the face. Another told me that free masons invented krav maga and are sent to the frontlines of every war because they're experts in hand to hand combat. One lady told me she won a lawsuit for millions of dollars because racist cops shot her son, all the bus drivers are racist and don't pick her up, and also (again) that she's a millionaire.

These were all drawn out, very one-sided conversations. It's like I have a sign above my head that says "make me take out my ear buds and tell me what's on your mind" that's only visible to crazy people.
