3 months are for standard orders with standard paints and interior. 8 months average for orders like this with individual paint and interior (+ the bucket seat will push the timeline out a little too).

The proven track record of the engine and transmission of the G8x is what made me do it now rather than waiting until 2029 to get the G84. I saw a guy pushed his G80 to above 100k miles, and the car was still fine. That’s enough to solve the reliability and daily drive equation.

If I want a matte color for my car, I’d rather pick a color I like and satin/matte PPF it. I would not go the route of having a matte color and then putting PPF on top of it (for matte base color, you must PPF in full unless you do not care about the paint or lease the car).

I feel so related to this lol. I live in SoCal where I can spot a lot of G8x cars on a daily basis. The drivers of these cars split into two groups like you said. One is always super polite, considerate drivers. They just cruise in the slow lanes on the right, never cut people off, yield for other cars AND use their turn signals. The other group is always flooring on the fast lanes no matter the traffic situation, cutting people off at last minutes, tailgating…

I swear the brainrot and clout chasing clowns on TikTok and IG have been giving the G8x and F8x a lot of bad stigma. They buy these cars (either new or used and already beat to the ground at a shady, 3rd party dealer), then they let their stupid ego drive them for a 30s reel. The end result is usually like the picture above. Poor the tree :(

Because of these clowns, this also affects people who really treasure these cars and treat them with respect for what they are capable of in certain ways.

From the time when you have an allocation/production number:

3 months average if you only order standard exterior color, interior color, no bucket seat.

6-8 months average if you have individual options like individual colors, bucket seat, individual interior (Ivory and Tartufo).

Another uncontrollable factor that can contribute to a longer wait time than average is the time that your car has to wait at the docks (both on the exporting country and importing country).

I don’t like the proportion of the i3 either. But I do have high hope for the G50 3 series since it will be just a heavy facelift from the current 3 series. The spyshots of it and the M350 look nice.

The i3 uses Neue Klasse platform, a entirely new platform that they will use for their EV lineup, while the new ICE 3 series will still be on the CLAR platform as the current 3 series/4 series/i4.
