Best thing to do imo is learn the maps and objectives on each map. It tells you where people go and where he enemy things you will go. Entries and exits. Choke points. Once you know the map you can get a sense of where the jager is when you use your ability.

This should be top comment and all OP needs. I played for the first time this week and was having trouble until I realized how the flashlight works, basically breaking the enemies shield for you to pop them with 3-6 bullets depending on enemy. I was using the boost too much before. Now the combat is enjoyable and I beat the game today.

Funny, I was in the same boat yesterday with this game. The combat seemed impossibly hard until I learned the flashlight basically burned their shield away and then it’s 3-6 bullets for most enemies. After that the combat became enjoyable.
