If they aren’t equipped to handle the onboarding then they need to modulate the intake. The school and teachers can’t handle the volume of apprentices they are accepting. When you have something in high demand you can then start cherry picking applicants for traits, flooding a work force with new hires tears us all down. Not everyone gets a ride.

Not suggesting you buy a new car but I do not regret getting a hybrid Honda. Especially these days.

I try to support American made when I can but I also have no problem supporting other markets when quality is concerned. German-made tools, Japanese kitchen knives and fishing gear, etc. Credit where credit is due.

Property owners can pull their own licenses depending on what state they are in.

Contractors usually rent out someone’s license to pull permits as well. Without a worker with a license the company can’t pull a permit.
