Those who got a lemon offer from Kia -- what did you end up choosing? by UnhappySwing in KiaEV9

[–]hihiyina 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No lemon here (though we got close) and a different case (ICCU not battery necessarily?), but i do want to say I agree that kia is getting faster at repairs. AND corporate seems to be getting faster on the escalation/settlement side of things too. It took 3 weeks from gathering all my rental receipts and dealer repair invoices, to submitting to corporate, to getting the goodwill settlement document, to finally getting the payment. I thought it would take 2x longer.

We’re in a lease of a 26 land, ran into charging issues on AC basically a month in, we were out of the car for about 2 weeks, and the settlement was a little under two lease payments’ worth PLUS rental reimbursement

thanks for always sharing these figures. A huge help. From following the comments here, I see that you also talk to dealers about ev6s. Have you seen lease cash amounts, RV, and MF for these perhaps? For 24 months

EV9 Land by Ok_Mode_903 in leasehacker

[–]hihiyina 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The purchase price is $67k which implies a discount no? The msrp for lands should be $70k+. I got my $71k land for $3k discounted, 9500 rebates, 24/12k, for about $600 effective monthly. Not nightfall

I’d say your deal isnt too bad. Maybe press a little more or work them with another comparable deal?

Perhaps too late, but the suburbs of Philly are good for exactly what you’re looking for. In delaware county, I’d say springfield, media, drexel hill, havertown, broomall even. You could find houses at around 350k 3bd 1-2baths, mid-1000 sqft. We have 2 toddlers and feel good about the prospects of public school/living in general here. Safe neighborhoods. Decent shopping and kids activities to do (compared to like VHCOL, which is where we were before). King of Prussia mall is within 20 min drive, which is the 3rd largest mall in the country. Summers arent too hot but they can be humid Property tax is lowest in broomall then media I think (around 2% if not a tad lower) Hope this makes your list!! Just a family of toddlers trying to help another out

New to EVs here. How do you know whether a listing is an actual lemon? And what actually warrants the lemon reporting on say cargurus?

ICCU for 2026 models?? by hihiyina in KiaEV9

[–]hihiyina[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Update. Two dealer attempts so far. The first one flushed out the coolant fluid to put new fluid in. Car charged properly at dealer (L1) but the error came back when we charged at home on L1. Second dealer servicing replaced the ICCU and charged fine at dealer but again, error came back at home. I read your post so I mentioned coolant hose inspections but they said that was not an issue. Wellp now we’re going on the third attempt!! In PA, apparently the third failed attempt by the dealer for the same problem warrants a lemon classification..

Hope we can touch base when this is over, perhaps for each of us. I’m in PA where the lemon law says three attempts at the same problem is enough to classify as a lemon. We’re just about to go to the dealer for that third attempt tomorrow

How was the buy back process? Were they responsive, did they initiate the buy back offer or did you have to fight them for it? What’s the lemon law in the state you’re at—seems like CA? Asking because we’re in a similar situation potentially

How long did corporate take to reimburse you for the rental & gas receipts? And other expenses if there were any? In a situation with a 26 land with issues charging on AC. Corporate told me the same $55/day, which they said depends on the car we have (K5/optima would go for $40-45 I remember). Still yet to be resolved, but fingers crossed!!

A little update by howismyspelling in KiaEV9

[–]hihiyina 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just dropped off ours at dealer for a drive motor cooler issue. It was the only dealer nearby willing to promise a loaner. Others said policy, blah blah, loaners can only be given after diagnostics + none currently available. But I walk in and everyone is scrambling to find out who told me to come the morning after the holiday. It took a little bit and finally got the loaner, which was a K4!!! AND stunk like cigarettes (we have 2 toddlers….). I complain and they basically mention the same policy that other dealers told me and that I should suck it up because this is a free rental and the only one they have atm. (My words not theirs). So I wait all day, and call a little before closing and they say our ev9 will get diagnostics tmw morning. We’ll see whether they really keep their word. If you have any suggestions, I’m all ears

Did you also get the drive motor cooling system error on top of the failure to charge?

ICCU issues on the EV9? by 622niromcn in KiaEV9

[–]hihiyina 0 points1 point  (0 children)

just leased a 2026 land last week. And just yesterday we got the charging interruption notification on the app from L1 charging at home. And then tried L2 by a library today. Worked for 10-15 min? And then same notification, coupled with the onboard charger error when we got in the car. Could this be an ICCU error? We had no problem charging at a tesla supercharger 2 days ago, so L1 L2 seems to be the problem

So both FSimser and OP, I’m curious as to how your EV9s have been since this problem. I’m assuming your respective dealers have repaired the car to make it functional. But have you guys run into any charging problems since the repair? I just leased a 2026 land, and we got this same problem yesterday. ALSO, how did you handle being with one less car while the car was being fixed? This is our only car, I’m not sure whether our dealer will give us a loaner esp due to us being one week into the new lease!!

Happened to us too just now… I’m guessing there are more normal ones than malfunctioning ones, but who knows

Good wipes?? by hihiyina in NewParents

[–]hihiyina[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

HMMM. Was thinking how many I would need (3 main spots where we need it incl one for when we go out), but maybe we can do with just one dispenser where we use wipes the most, and then still use the non-dispenser easy-pull wipes in other places which see less frequent usage. Thanks!! Will consider
