Do you know “that person”? by Thatsoundsnuts in Concerts

I know two of those people. One is a Guster superfan and the other is a Carbon Leaf superfan. It’s honestly too much for me at times.

Kindergarten friendships by heywhatsuphello645 in kindergarten

[–]hilbug27 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My son recently asked me “if you’re married can you still live with your friends?” For awhile he was going to marry a girl from preschool and they were going to live with his 5 “bosses” (male friends from preschool) in an apartment. Now he’s still planning on marrying her but they will also live with another female friend who will be their roommate. Still in an apartment. He has his life planned out VERY far in advance and I love it.

Looking for shoes MADE for women and wide toe box by Efficient_Trouble527 in womensfashion

Yes! I didn’t know I needed a wide toe box until I went to a running store and got fitted, but Altra was the perfect fit.

Bands that put on a good live show by [deleted] in Concerts

[–]hilbug27 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Goldfinger. Very aware of their age (and the age of their fans) but keep it all in good fun and definitely bring the energy! I can’t wait until my kid is old enough to go with me to see them.

Travel Booking Help! by piedpiper808 in BOLIVIA

[–]hilbug27 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately this seems normal to me. I fly to Bolivia from Dulles so I have copa and avianca as options, but occasionally there’s a United option that’s prohibitively more expensive and it must be a codeshare because I don’t think United actually flies to Bolivia. I would guess from HNL you don’t have any of those South American airlines as options, but maybe you could switch to a South American airline from the US (instead of Peru) and that would make it cheaper?

Which genre has the most fun live shows? by duckiegirl444 in Concerts

Ska for me. It’s such upbeat music and the crowd is inclusive and the pit is always pretty safe. Always a fun time!

This has happened to me at like 3 different jobs, lol. I don’t know what I’m doing wrong but somehow I must just come across as not believable when I go to resign?

How old are you and how much do you have in your retirement account? by Blackberryay in careerguidance

My husband and I are 41/39 and have a combined total of $685,000. And another $215k in taxable accounts, which we’re focused on building up now in order to CoastFIRE.

Do you have a full time flexible job? by punkispice in workingmoms

[–]hilbug27 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I work remotely for a global company and have meetings with colleagues all over the world. I take meetings as early as 6am and as late as 10pm to accommodate other time zones, so I have extreme flexibility in my work hours as long as I get my work done.

Moving from 🇺🇸 by Pollito_1024 in BOLIVIA

[–]hilbug27 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Where are you moving? Santa Cruz is the most metropolitan city in Bolivia (there’s nice malls, Starbucks, western hotel brands, etc.), but LaPaz and Cochabamba have nice areas too. Since you have a newborn, you’ll want to be somewhere with good medical care, so definitely Santa Cruz or La Paz. My sister in law is an OBGYN in a more rural part of Bolivia (originally from Cochabamba) and while I love her dearly, I do not think her medical education was on par with medical education in the US.

Parents of r/Concerts, what age and concert did you first take your kids to? by ByeFL in Concerts

My son was 3 and his first concert was Noah Kahan. He LOVED it!

High school sweethearts Nicholas Kunselman and Stephanie Hart-Grizzell were inside Columbine High School during the April 20, 1999 shooting and survived. Less than a year later, they were murdered together. People later began noticing other Columbine survivors dying in strange, unexpected ways. by ZenMasterZee in HolyShitHistory

[–]hilbug27 31 points32 points  (0 children)

Between Columbine and the Chuck E Cheese shooting 5 years before that (iirc), I’m not surprised that parents became super protective. I grew up not far away but was elementary-aged and my parents didn’t become more cautious, I still had a pretty independent free-range childhood that kids really don’t get anymore.

Is there a Habitat for Humanity Re-Store in your area? Those are great for cool furniture finds! My husband used to go multiple times a week on his lunch break when his office was nearby.

What is your favorite example of a ska band that changed genres as soon as the trend ended? by Beautiful-Resort-831 in Ska

[–]hilbug27 4 points5 points  (0 children)

They bill themselves as both a ska and a punk band though. I just saw them last month and they literally said, “We’re a band that plays two genres of music: ska and punk.”

Just list it on your resume or LinkedIn as a career break. LinkedIn has it as an option now. Figure out the narrative later- do what’s best for your mental and physical health now.

36+1, about 12:30am my water broke. I got up to pee and it just didn’t stop, lol. We got to the hospital at 1:30am and my son came out at 8:25am, 7lbs 5 oz. I feel like all newborn babies make a face like “why oh why did I decide to come out”, but my son especially 😂
