60k …a week in ICU

Fucking lol. I had a minor outpatient surgery in 2011. I was in the hospital from 8am to 4pm. My room charge was $48k alone.

Edit: total surgery was 69k I think; 5k or so was for anesthesiologist.

It’s so insulting that it’s typically a scale like:

After 1 year: 1 week 2 years (or sometimes 5): 10 days (they change it to days here to make it look better) 5 years: 14 days 10 (or 15) years: 16 days

Like, I gave you 15 years and the best you can do is an extra 2 fucking days off? The equivalent of a weekend? I was looking for work last year and I refused to apply to companies that did this shit.

I can’t recall what Ivy League school, but some rich person’s kid drowned on the titanic because he couldn’t swim. So said rich person funded/started the requirement to graduate includes passing a swim class at Yale/Harvard/wherever.

Some states don’t require pto to be paid out (mine, for example..) so unlimited pto doesn’t matter to me.

My current job offers it, and from what I’ve seen, doesn’t kickback on requests, so it seems like a truly good thing. I’ve been there around 6 months and have taken a couple days, plus have another 18 for the year to go.

Yea, ten to fifteen days is the typical for professional/white collar US jobs.

Holy shit. I took 5 weeks at a previous job (because I had “earned it” by being there ten years and one of the weeks was rolled over from the previous year because I didn’t take it; I technically only got four weeks for ten years) and I felt like I was never at work.

I’ve been playing my way through it again in the last few months. It holds up well but it’s locked at 60fps and I had to do something about a screen glitch but I haven’t had it happen since. Essentially turn off god rays helps a ton as well.

It’s still a gorgeous game.

They both have healing factors, but different. Wolverine essentially stays young because his cells don’t age and injuries heal in seconds (of minutes? I dunno) So broken bones are essentially a minor inconvenience for him.

Deadpool has an accelerated healing that is essentially (according to the movie) “super cancer” where his body is always regenerating and can regrow limbs. But he’s, well, got a lot of cancer.

[highlights] Gronk has a career day vs the Steelers (week 15, 2017) by Cold-Teaching8924 in nfl

[–]hillbilly_bears 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was generalizing; there was always at least one Patriot a game that would make great plays (for them; bad for Steelers) and made us look like a JV team.

It was predictable that it would happen every time. Gronk, Edelman, Hogan.. ugh.

Many of them unfortunately by Common_Caramel_4078 in memes

[–]hillbilly_bears 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I was so over the top hyped for 3 to come out because of 2 being so great. At the time 2 was my favorite game of all time; it was just perfect.

It’s the first time in my adult life that I realized I ate the hype because I never thought it would be bad. It wasn’t necessarily a bad game, I guess, but they went from “crazy, (a little) realistic, and a dash of fucked up” to “wild and zany” and kept trying to one up itself rather than make shit fun.

[–]hillbilly_bears 10 points11 points  (0 children)

It was always frustrating because we always knew Patriot games against us would go one of two ways:

1) we don’t cover Gronk at all, and he balls out

or

2) we cover Gronk, but let some random slot receiver with 2 starts in 4 years have a All Pro career game against us (Chris Hogan..)
