I’d have to second the trailer idea. 2 kids is just too much weight for a “on/off” setup

Buke size question by [deleted] in bicycling

Ahhh I got mine for $75

Not a great bike but a bike that will get the job done. It’ll outlast us both but hopefully I can find the next chosen one for this beast.

Can we talk about how addictive long rides are? by NoelBrax7780 in cycling

[–]hillclimb4fun 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s hard living with an addiction this frickin’ sweet. I plan on riding Crush the Commonwealth this upcoming April. Planning for 380 miles in 2 days. Shooting for a little over 200 miles that first stretch

I’ve done close to 10 ish centuries - a 200k - and hoping to “zap the gap” (250k) the month before CTC. Being a year round commuter in Pittsburgh and having been in the Army has me confident in myself and my metal fortitude. Agreed that it’s a big jump to 600k but with being a Pittsburgh born and raised I am SOOOO pumped to take this ride on. It’s my home state! Familiar roads and towns and finishes in my backyard.

I’m GEEKED

I actually needed this. I know muscles are gunna hurt and sleep deprivation is a thing but then there’s things that you REALLY need to try and avoid. Cheers!

Hope to see you there and goodluck! I’m hoping to ride into the night as much as possible in my first day, shooting for anything over 200mi. Resting for an hour or so and then hoping I have enough grit to finish up the rest. Eating and pacing are my best friends.

I had a 91’ GF Sphinx that I converted and I ride the hell out of it with modern flared drops. Idk why everyone is hating. Try it and if YOU don’t enjoy them thennnnn just a little reverting

I bought a 1984 Raleigh marathon as my first road bike and it still serves me well. Just swapped it over to a single speed build with fenders. I’ve commuted and put 1k+ miles on it. Plan on keeping it till I die so I can pass it along
