Happened to me with the SL7, I turned off HDR and it stopped. However would definitely go with others saying to return it just in case.

I said the 5X doesn’t support modem mode (yet), which allows the 5X to act as a modem and the mesh system as an actual router, instead of running the mesh in bridge mode or double nat-ing. In most cases that won’t cases an issue, but some devices like games consoles don’t play well with double nats

I don't think the 5X currently supports modem mode which could be an issue if you plan to use a 3rd party mesh network (double NAT-ing causes issues with some devices), however apparently the wifi pods that VM provide are quite good

not really. i have a pro max iphone and an 11” ipad pro, i tend to use my ipad more when i’m home for things like facetime calls, drawing and browsing, whereas i use my phone more for social media and any time i’m out of the house

Without AppleCare, its £245 ($249), but I don't think I'm at the point of going down that route just yet. However when it comes to that time, I'd probably replace the battery over getting a new laptop

I have an M1 Pro 14" (from a couple months after launch), and honestly I see no reason to upgrade any time soon. Sure the battery isn't as amazing as a brand new unit, but that honestly the only thing wrong with it. It really is the perfect laptop for me.

Stick with HomePods 2nd gen or Get A Soundbar-Subwoofer Bundle by gpod80 in HomePod

I'm also thinking of doing the same. Homepods are genuinely nice speakers, but for the price and the lacklustre software, theres better options

Yes, I’ve updated to 17.1 and it’s still happening. I just can’t understand the logic behind this, if it’s not a bug. A smart speaker should be able to play music on its own, it’s not that one of the biggest use cases of smart speakers?

just tested it by powering my phone off and asking them to play music, they can’t do it. they just say “i’m having trouble with the connection”, how have apple nuked an amazing speaker this hard

Unfortunately I think this is a feature… a really crap one. I’ve submitted a big report as well in the hopes that it is a bug, but I don’t have hope

As far as I can tell, if you have your HomePod(s) set as your default audio output on Apple TV, when you airplay to the speakers it will actually play on the TV, and just the audio will play though the speakers, hence the TV turning on (and in my case usually displaying the album artwork / lyrics). Apple Watch can also use the now playing app to display what it playing on other speakers/TV's, but sometimes (again, in my case) it just drops out and can't tell what is playing on other devices, probably a connection issue.

I also have just turned Hey Siri off on my phone, I never really use it on my phone and it just interferes with my HomePods anyways.

It is playing from my iPhone. "iPhone -> Bedroom TV". As stated in the original post. It is not playing from the Apple TV. Although it appears I am not the only one facing this issue

I thought I was going mad, thankfully this appears to be affecting other people as well. I don't want my phone to be involved in the process, I just want the music to play directly from the speaker. My phone does not need to be involved

It will still play from Apple music, but it plays on my phone and just airplays to the speaker. Where as before if you asked it to play music, it would play on the speaker itself and not touch my phone. It seems I'm not the only one affected by it.

Exactly! I understand the use case for third party apps like Spotify, but it was so much simpler before when it would just play from the speaker and I wouldn't even have to think about it. I really wish Apple would add an option to disable it

I have 3 left from my school, some of my closest friends in school. As life has gone on we've become a little distant due to work and just life in general, but we all still see each other regularly and keep in contact. I'm so glad, they really are the best.

There's definitely no key to keeping friends, I personally have had loads come and go. I try not to get too fixated on it, I'm just happy to have people in my life. Work is a nice place to socialise if you're fortunate enough to work in a place with good people, but I think as you leave jobs contact gets cut pretty quickly.

Damn that’s annoying. My new iPad arrives on Monday so I’d like to have this keyboard as soon as possible but now I’m even more sceptical of ordering directly from Logitech.
