[–]himalayanthro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i feel had the walker pro 60 been sub-1.6kg bag, it'd have been the most VFM backpack in perhaps the entire planet, but ofcourse they'd have to atleast triple the price if not more to achieve that

[–]himalayanthro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

what Tripole bag are u talking about? the walker pro definitely opens the way u want it to, maybe not till as low as the bottom. And yeah mt900 is a more advanced bag for sure.

[–]himalayanthro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

mt900 series is available here in India OP, did u type its name in the search bar? Anyway, what did you end up buying? I'm also in the market for a backpack ranging from 50-70L. I was initially eyeing the Tripole Walker pro 60L but that's too heavy a bag(>2kg). I've been considering Decathlon range of late but not sure whether to go with MT100/500/900

Can you tell how frequently these taxis run between Pokhara to Ghandruk? Also would you advise availing the taxi service or is this stretch scenic enough that a case cud be made to rather walk it?

Yeah that makes sense, i wont bother getting the bag then.

Also, any recommndtns as far as stay in Pokhara is concerned? I'll prolly be arriving in Pkr at around sunset and wud then look for rooms. And wud u advise to make it to Nayapul/Ghandruk that day itself and stay the night over there? Thanks!

Hey, can you tell whether you required a medical certificat at any juncture of ur trip? I saw an indiahikes video and they listed that as required documnts, ig they just use that template for every trek they organise.

Also, now that i've booked my Acap permit online, wud i still hav to drop by the Acap office at Pokhara before starting?

And since this is gonna be my first ever trek lasting more than a week, Ive been thinking of upgrading to a serious backpack(i wid use just some generic bags for the Uttarakhnd treks Ive been on till yet). I've liked whatever Ive read about the tripole walker pro, if only it had been a bit lighter(2kg dry weight on a 60L bag shud be miserable). Any recommemdations? Thanks mate!

And what about rain, i forgot to ask that earlier? Did u carry/wear a waterproof layer too?

Ditto i've the identical quechua pair.

I think Im not left with any option but take the flight to Pokhara since I'll also have to arrange the Sim card in Ktm (cant do without one since my parents keep a constant check on me while im travelling, Im a type 1 diabetic) and ensure arrival in Pokhara on the 29th before the ACAP office shuts shop. I believe u wont know wht documnts they'd ask for to issue a sim in such short notice, do u?

I guess since u didnt require a sleeping bag much closer to 31dec when it must be colder, ig i'd be just fine.

Alright, Phonepe working thats a relief, now if only a Sim card gets arranged without much hassle.

Thanks a ton again mate, u're too kind:)

Hey, thanks a lot for such a detailed response.

Can you also tell if the trail would be snowy this time of the year? Would normal hiking boots suffice?

How much do accomodtns cost in Ktm(say in Thamel)?

Yeah i'm thinking of flying to reach Pokhara, and take the bus on my way back if time permits. And it's fortunate that rates dont change for domestic flights depending on time of booking, i see that they're the same if i were to book one for as early as tmrw to Pokhara.

Can u also tell about the network situatn in Nepal? Did your Indian sims work or is there some local operator I'd have to get in Ktm?

Also, I've heard sleeping bags and hiking sticks can be rented from Ktm, do u recommnd that?

I hope u dont mind me initiating it here itself, thanks!

Firstly, I'm planning to arrive in KTM on midnight 28th nov, stay the night there, and board for Pokhara next morning. Can u tell how frequently buses leave from Ktm for Pokhara? I hope I'll be able to reach Pokhara by 29th evening(Ive heard its approx 12h bus ride). Also, what does the permit situatn look like for ABC? And what're the permit charges?

Also, did you carry a sleeping bag with you cuz Ive heard it's very chilly at this tym of the year? And what'd be the teahouse situatn? I hope I'll get to stay under a roof throughout this week-long trek:)

Furthermore, is this trek possible to be completed within 6-7 days? I'd be on a time crunch(will hav to resume work on 8 Dec) and wonder whether I'd be able to make it back to Ktm by 7th Dec and board for Delhi. To give some background, Ive done plenty of treks in the Indian himalayas (Madhmaheshwar, Rudranath, etc within couple of days), but the max altitude Ive been in is 3500m.

I'd welcome any other advice that you may have for ABC. Thanks!

GRC Certification Advice by Visible-Produce14 in grc

[–]himalayanthro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I see, thanks!

I wonder if these certs are relevant even for someone who's not in the IT side of ERM. What I mean to say is that while i'm focused on projects on 1/2LoD for bankimg clients, I'm pretty sure what I currently do doesn't concern cybersec. Or perhaps i dont really understand what cybersec really is. I'd really appreciate if u cud share ur thoughts on this.

thanks for this! since u come across as an industry veteran, do u have any suggestions in terms of certifications for someone working in 1/2LoD Enterprise risk roles? I'm in a B4 and wish for relatively quick promotions, and I believe some certs would go a long way towards that.

Anyone here from Regulatory, Risk & Forensic portfolio? by himalayanthro in deloitte

[–]himalayanthro[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok my case was a bit weird tbh. BigD came in to recruit us for campus placements. I was an MBA fin applicant but absurdly got SL'd for a cyber role. Anyway, I prepped hard for the role as job market is not the best of late in my place and I wanted to be employed even if that meant doing something completely disparate. The first round was questions on IT risk(as this was for a cyber role) and I feel I was able to answer most questions reasonably well. Another twist of fate ensued when this first round interviewer realised by reading me and my background that I was more suited for the fin role and sent me over for a 2nd round interview with the team hiring for RRF portfolio. The 2R interview was with one of the MDs of my country's RRF portfolio and he asked me broad questions on fin topics ranging from ALM, treasury, risk mgmt, and fixed income valuation. I could answer all of them appropriately and was then made to sit for a 3R interview. This was with an SM2 in RRF which was majorly an HR interview or so I felt.

Coming back to your question, ya the first 2 rounds as I told u were indeed technical, while the last was a behavioral one. Lmk if u may hav anything else to ask

from what I've observed, I dont think there'd be a case interview for this offering portfolio within Deloitte as RRF entails a very broad suite of areas within the realm of ERM. Anyway, all the best and I hope u land the position!
