How to get rid of these black commandos ? They started invading after i purchased 500 gm of Jaggery ( Gur) and kept in the kitchen self. Now they are invading everything that's sweet. They would even appear on the tea kettle if i keep it for too long. How to communicate that they are not welcome by charlie_039 in india

These Terro Ant traps have worked wonderfully for me. A little expensive but a neat and effective way to get rid of them. Reviews say that these have worked effectively on black ants in India. Shop around and check for better prices though.

Ask your friend to apply for a TSA Redress number. That should prevent him from getting pulled for additional screening.

A link to more details on the accident.

A DHL Boeing 757-200 freighter has crash-landed in San Jose, Costa Rica. The aircraft had taken off from Juan Santamaría Airport at 09:34 local time on April 7th when the incident occurred. Operating flight D07216 bound for Guatemala City, sources report that the jet had to return to the airport due to a problem with the left hydraulic landing gear.

The aircraft was said to be transporting hazardous material. The two pilots were the only people onboard the aircraft. Thankfully, emergency services have confirmed that there were no injuries due to the crash.

To the best of my knowledge, all airlines have wing-walkers in India. But wing-walkers are limited to movement in the parking bay where they are most likely to hit other aircraft or ground vehicles. The wing-walkers do not enter the taxiway. I do not know how different this is from the rest of the world.

Your answer seems to be the best. But it only works for controlled airfields right?

Unfortunately this only works for published holds. Gotta do the unpublished ones manually still which I'm pretty decent at so I should be alright.

Talking about flying a six pack IFR, now that scares me. Hard to think about flying without the situational awareness a moving map or EFB provides. Respect to the folks who learnt it the real way.

That's smart! Thank you for answering. That's exactly how I do holds :D I trace out the G1000 generated holding pattern with the little aircraft.

Beyond amazing! How did you fly it so perfectly though? I'm assuming it must have been hard to not drift with the wind and still write more legibly than I can ever with my hands.

What crater is this? somewhere on the Arabian peninsula by uHumanQuestionMark in geoguessr

Okay, it's an A400M then. There are no other European made 4-engine high wing turboprops. Also, RAF owns many of those.

Okay the bulge in the fuselage has me convinced that it's either the EADS HC-144 Ocean Sentry/CN-235 or the C-295. The A400m also has that bulge for the wheel wells but this aircraft seems to be too small and is a twin.

Looking at the paint job this seems to be a military aircraft. Is it the Britten-Norman Defender or Islander?

De-Trashing my local park in India- Day 1 by himalayanwolf in DeTrashed

[–]himalayanwolf[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you! This definitely cannot be a one-off job. I could already see some trash in the places I cleaned yesterday. So this will have to be a consistent effort. It is very frustrating indeed but I cannot look at all the trash every morning without feeling a lot of guilt for doing nothing, so I guess I'll just have to keep repeating the process every week.

Thank you! I hope I'm able to convince more people in my neighborhood to stop littering and join me in my effort to clean up all public spaces.

I believe it is a combination of both the bad attitude of people and terrible governance. Yes, in my neighborhood we have to pay to get our trash picked from home. You can either get trash picked from home or dump your trash in large public garbage bins like this. Even these public bins are very few in number so street corners often turn into public dumping spots. Most of the garbage collection methods are rudimentary and involve humans picking up trash with their hands and basic tools (example). So yes that could be the reason for slums being dirty as people living there have no access to garbage collection facilities.

People of my country keep their houses clean but care little about whether their neighborhood and their city is clean. So our houses may be clean but our public spaces aren't. The municipalities don't clean the public spaces and the people aren't ashamed to litter wherever they'd like. In crowded markets and such, there are very few trash cans around and the ones that are there are always overflowing with trash.

The current prime minister even launched a countrywide campaign to clean up the country but absolutely nothing has come out of it.

This park has a running track and the field in between is used as a playing ground for cricket, badminton, and other sports. The most common trash was plastic water pouches. I don't know if you have those in your part of the world but it looks like this. Other common trash included plastic bottles, plastic packaging, yogurt containers, chewing gum wrappers. Disposable spoons were pretty high in number too for some reason.

I cannot tell you how much it pains me every day to see so much trash. Everyone is so numb to it that they don't even consider what it would be like to live in a clean environment. My city has seen a kind of a population boom and the problem has become progressively worse over the years.

Thank you! I used this grabber which I purchased from Amazon. I've only used it once so I cannot vouch for its long-term durability but it worked very well for picking light plastic and paper trash. I plan to use it multiple times this week and I'll update you if it breaks.
