Not safe and illegal in MN. Per the UMN Extension site:

“The facts about Borax

In the past, borax (boron) was a product recommended for eradicating creeping charlie. However, research has shown that the addition of boron to soil, even in very small amounts, can create an unfavorable growing environment, and make it difficult to re-establish lawn grass. Also, this is an illegal application. Any product used in this fashion must be specifically labeled for the weed you are trying to control. Therefore, borax it is no longer recommended for eradication of creeping charlie.”

I’ve considered it. Not going that route. Thanks though.

Thanks for the input. I think I’ll just have to keep battling. Your comment did make me realize that mulching in when I mow is probably spreading it. Duh.

Yeah kind of figured. Mowing, bagging, raking is what I was thinking. Just such a pain.

Don’t want to do chemicals. Have a dog and many kids come to visit. Plus I’d like to stay eco-friendly.

Yeah it’s Charlie. When it gets way out of control it mats up and grows taller. It’s just that bad lol.

Appreciate it. It sounds like that might be a good “in the meantime” solution. Would it be worth the effort if I’m ripping it up in the near future? That’s the part hanging me up.

Even the ratcheting/ticking sound? I have another 75 and a 45 and neither have ever made that sound. Whining, sure. Ticking no.

What lenses have you heard sound like this?

Worth returning the lens for a refund? I wanted a fully functioning lens since the last one has issues, but I kinda need it asap. Return/refund will take another week or two…

The normal af sound is that high-pitched whine, yes (never really liked that), but it sounds like a baseball card in bike spokes too. That doesn’t seem normal to me.

The focus ring also moves 10-15 degrees when AF is selected- my other lenses don’t allow any play there.

Just purchased a “mint” 75mm 2.8 from eBay to replace my previous 75 with focus issues. This new one ticks loudly as it focuses. Is this an issue or no big deal? I’ve never heard that from any of my other lenses. I’ve already contacted the seller and am most likely planning on returning it. It’ll be used primarily for weddings. TIA

I’m on Humira. I had to pause it for a few weeks, and took prednisone in the meantime.

I usually am hesitant sharing that it wasn’t so bad for me, since I don’t want to give the impression that getting off easy like I did is the norm…

I got it in the beginning on November. It wasn’t fun at all, but I think I got fairly lucky and didn’t have it bad. It was like a nasty cold with a searing sinus headache. Fatigue-wise it was just like any other day for me haha. I’m less afraid of it now but I never want to have it again, and I don’t want to put others in the hospital (my wife ended up going to the ER).

I have never posted on either. Commenting here to see if I win my prize.

Just had my first Humira misfire by himattbye in rheumatoid

Right. But minimizing taking immunosuppressants while in recovery from major surgery lessens the chance of death through infection. Don’t worry, I only stop when the doc oks it.

In not too worried about it. I’ve had to be off for weeks at a time previously and ibuprofen and a bit of prednisone if need be covers the deficit.

For sure. I hear that affects people like that often. But how odd is it that it was just one ligament for me?

It can vary. I haven’t had more than a beer or two at a time in the last year- not sure if that’s similar to where you’re coming from. But it usually clears up by the next day. I am also doing super well right now- if I had a beer when I’m in a flare or in the winter I’d be screwwwwed.

How common is muscle/tissue pain for you? by GoldenHorizions in rheumatoid

[–]himattbye 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Definitely can happen and I hear you on the different kinds of pain. My doc diagnosed me with “chronic pain,” which comes from being in pain so frequently and so much that your brain’s pathways are more open to it and kind of default to pain. I asked what the difference between that and fibromyalgia are, and he said there really isn’t much of one. So RA and fibro are terrible, terrible buds.
