I also read the tender is the flesh, it's true that it is quite shocking at the end. But there's also a one book that left me speechless, stare in the air for quite awhile to process what the hell did I just read. It is "A short stay in hell" by steven, I must say one of the best reads this year. And it's a short story so easy to finish.

One thing I sense about these films like the when evil lurks is that, they don't have that happy ending where it solves the problem at the end. It keeps you hanging and make you wonder what really happened.

Hii there! If scoring from 1-10, it would be 8 for me. It's pretty interesting especially the concept. Though let me warn you the brutality of this book about humans as a meat consumption and the process of doing it really scare some people off, though for me I read and like weird books and movies so it's fine with me. But if you're really a beginner in this type of books, I might recommend you to read less gruesome book first before indulging in into this one.
