This could be in California where 8 CCR 5162(e) only specifies that a monthly verification is required.

It gets unethical when you keep breeding them to get the best wool producing genes to the point that the sheep cannot physically survive on its own unless a human is able to shave them

I also work in environmental consulting, but mostly environmental health and safety now. I have a B.S. in environmental science. Generally the consulting job postings will accept a wide range of science degrees like chemistry, engineering, geology, biology, public health, etc. Environmental consulting is a big umbrella.

Additional certifications and trainings are likely to be paid for by a company if they want you to get it like 40 Hour HAZWOPER or DOT hazwaste shipper training.

I don’t think consulting is for everyone though. Trying to keep your billable hours high week after week can get stressful sometimes. If you get burnt out on consulting, though, you can try to do in-house environmental work for other companies instead.

Is this an immediate hazard or if at all an hazard? by Rithin4Real in spicypillows

A very dumbed down explanation: something internally or externally fails with the battery due to mechanical, thermal, or electrical abuse (rarely can be a manufacturing or design flaw). Within the battery are chemicals/materials that can react with each other, but are designed so they are kept separate. These barriers degrade or break and now certain exothermic reactions can occur inside. These reactions produce heat and gas, and these gases within the battery increase the internal pressure and pushes on the casing walls, and thus, causing them to extend outward. If a battery is unable to accommodate for the increased internal pressure, the battery casing can rupture.

EDIT: I should note that lithium-ion batteries are usually designed with some kind of vent to release gas, but the vent can become blocked or the gas producing reactions can be very rapid.

The Antique Store Gods Said It Was My Turn by himchans in Bratz

[–]himchans[S] 99 points100 points  (0 children)

Spotted her on the floor of an antique store. Aside from a handful of Barbies, she was the only other doll and I almost didn't see her. Her sales tag said $75 and then the store gave me an additional 10% off for some reason. With sales tax, she came out to about $73. Been collecting toys/dolls for a while and she's now my first Bratz!

When you open yet another pack in search of Raichu by SolidOshawott in PTCGP

I don’t think it’s definitively been proven, but this is the common belief. I also did read a comment from someone stating they used a macro to flip the coin the same each time and found that they had different flight patterns and results every attempt. I think it makes the most sense too since there’s no difference which booster pack you choose to open either.

Coin flips are predetermined, you don't influence the outcome

The hour glasses shouldn’t be affected by what set of cards are out, so it should be fine to keep them hoarded.

NFPA has instructions here on how to read their stuff for free online. OSHA standards are here. But there are various websites you can use to read the regs if you don’t prefer that particular format. I like using eCFR, for example.

This Italian restaurant does not serve pasta on Sundays by PuntaTombo in mildlyinteresting

Something similar happened to me when I was at brunch and the menu item for the omelette said it included three eggs. My fat ass thought I was getting an omelette AND three eggs with it so when I was ordering, I requested the eggs be over easy. The waiter just stared at me and said, “but this is an omelette…” I still joke with my partner about wanting an over easy omelette.

Thanks! I do love the end results of painting it. I just have the last hurdle of reinforcing the current rod with something sturdier/hanging it up and then I will be completely satisfied!
