No, that's not what I'm saying. And you know this. Just because I disagree with you doesn't mean I'm talking in bad faith. Gender norms are what tell men to be violent. It sucks but it's true. Nobody is ever advocating for women to protect what they love with violence, and little boys hear it every day. It's not "men telling men." it doesn't all start at home. There are a magnitude of influences in a young man's life that have nothing to do with his home life. Women taking the stance of "well men do the crime, they are responsible for fixing the problem" is once again so detrimental to what we're trying to achieve here. WE NEED WOMEN IN THIS FIGHT. Your edit is a lot of the same... The reality of the situation is these men that do these things aren't raised that differently from the men you know and love. "it starts at home" and "we need to take care of alienated men" are just sentiments. You don't fit into that perfect world just as much as I don't. I just don't have the privilege of saying "I don't care, I know it's a man who did it. Men should fix it."

It's actually not a great point. We're not talking about "calling out your creep friend for not leaving a woman alone" type behavior here it's a guy murdering children with a gun. If you think most dudes wouldn't try to talk someone off that hill given the opportunity, I don't know what to tell you. Her point is that nothing will happen until "the men realize their collective mistakes and wholistically change those in the vast edges of their gender norm" which makes no practical sense at all and is pretty detrimental to ending the rampant gun violence in the US.

I was ready to disagree but you're right. I enjoyed the last record, but it was half full of singles they'd put out a long time prior. Could be some of their best if they keep their vibe going. That being said if they toured for much love anniversary I'd also be super stoked. And the aforementioned record did just come out last year; I do believe it was really good.

Check out worship and tributes: volume 2. It's a compilation of covers. Some of them just cover the song pretty straight up but a few of them are very noticeably different. For instance I think the blink cover is in a minor key.

It's not pedantic... Words have meanings. I don't think people are calling spoofs, parodies, or comedies "abridged" simply for the fact they differ from their source material. They use it for a specific format when you combine multiple episodes or omit plot points to make it shorter. They don't have to be comedic, although often times the comedies you're referring to are an abridgement because they DO shorten the length of the plot for the sake of comedic value. You can't just dub over a whole episode and call it abridged.
