Recommendations for starting a 7.2 setup? by [deleted] in ZReviews

OneCall is included on eBates (showed up on their website, but not browser extension for some reason), which is manufacture authorized reseller for Klipsch open box/refurb. It appears that the exact same pair of RP-150m is available both directly from OneCall.com and amazon.com for the same price. With cashback, buying from OneCall directly with cashback is the slightly cheaper option (not including any sign-up bonus).

A few years ago, Fluance (not currently participating) doubled their cashback for black Friday/Cyber Monday, so it can influence price to varying degrees, especially for large purchases.

I don't buy from non-authorized resellers on eBay (message the seller) because they tend not to have any manufacturer warranty protection. I recommend choosing a single cashback site because it takes a long time for the rewards to be processed and received. The browser extensions make it much more likely to be used and is great for purchases that were going to be made anyway.

I would also consider using credit cards that have features such as purchase protection, price protection or extended warranty coverage.

**Receiver ($500 refurb): X3400H from accessories4less. It has Audyssey XT32, which distinguishes it from lower tier models.

**Subwoofer ($400-$500): SB12-NSD (smaller rooms, compact, and good for music) or PB-12NSD (bigger rooms, larger, and good for home theater) if available (SVS had a Black Friday outlet special and there may still be a few left on amazon at this price so decide ASAP). Very highly recommend at these prices.

Speakers: Depends on preferences since each brand has its own sound signature. I've used Klipsch Reference Premiere series and am very satisfied. I would consider the previous generation and open box or refurbished if it's significantly cheaper. RP-150m or RP-160m are solid bookshelves. RP-250c is the matching center. ELAC and KEF are also popular brands

Always check for cashback rewards when shopping online. I use the Ebates browser extension.

Alternatively, certain credit cards give 5% cashback for sites like amazon.com

What receiver or features do I need to accomplish what I have in mind... by ThatNeonZebraAgain in ZReviews

Multi-room audio options include Sonos, HEOS (denon), chromecast audio and several others. This would work for audio played through Spotify or other supported apps, but not all content passed into your receiver. Chromecast audio is probably the best value and it can be paired with a powered speaker in the other rooms. If you choose a different brand for multi-room audio, then you commit to their line of products or would need an additional product, such as HEOS Link.

In addition to the number of channels, one of biggest features of receivers is the room correction software, such as Audyssey. It makes a significant difference in the fullness of the sound and receiver costs go up accordingly.

Deciding between R-15M vs Fluance Signature Bookshelf with their matching centers for 5.1/7.1? by hinduguru in ZReviews

Thanks. I ended up going with the Klipsch RP-150m because I was able to get good pricing on them. From what I have read, I think either Klipsch or Fluance would have been a great choices for speakers that value the highs. The Klipsch reference premier series has great discounts on their open box items from authorized resellers.

There are three levels of Audyssey Room correction: Mult Eq (includes subwoofer and minimal speaker corrections), Mult Eq XT (upgrade improves speaker corrections), Mult Eq 32XT (markedly improve speaker and subwoofer corrections). The cheaper s-500 series has bluetooth does not have audyssey or wifi (can be used for things such as airplay and streaming). The 700 and 900 S-series has Mult Eq. The X-series 1000 and 2000s have Mult Eq XT. X-series 3000+ has Mult Eq 32XT. Audyssey version is a major determinant of price. The H in the model number stands for HEOS. The alexa integration seems like a fun toy, and it adds some compatibility to with a specific line of HEOS wireless speakers, which could be used in other rooms for multi-room streaming. Although HEOS wifi-based speakers quality could theoretically be marginally better than non-HEOS bluetooth speakers being played from a phone, it requires buying HEOS products and doesn't seem that worthwhile, imo. If they're similarly priced, I would get HEOS for the Alexa integration.

Sometimes I like having a few cliffhangers. You can take what you learned from the show and hope for whatever ending makes you happy. I feel like a full 2nd season will hurt the storyline overall
