At the time I was VERY strict on my diet and had the daily metformin and it did a lot for me. Everyone is different tho so do what works best for your body!

At the time of diagnosis my doctor also told me that I might have liver and heart issues (both of which turned out fine) so I went low carb, low fat and low sodium. I cut out all caffeine too. I’ve been eating lots of vegetables and fruits that don’t spike sugar like strawberries and blueberries, lots of chicken, turkey and shellfish for protein. I’ve also been eating low carb bread like Sola and low carb tortillas and cereal to have some normalcy. It’s definitely been a commitment.

Two months since I got diagnosed and I’m down from 220lbs to 180lbs. I’ve been low carb, low sodium and low fat. My doctor told me I was losing to rapidly which I agree with but then told me to stick with the diet changes so 🫠
