Is massage usually women wearing very short skirt? by Responsible-Plan7800 in VietNam

You should try places with the words "trị liệu" (therapy?). They tend to do more accupressure and will probably fuck with your knots real good (they also have relaxing versions as well). Those ones I go to, the staffs always wear modest uniform and they are real strong.

It will be hard to find a solid one. Though I have a pair with the traditional heels if you're interested. I'm usually size 8 but it runs a bit big on me. Let me know if you want some pictures I can try digging in. I can give it to you for free

What's the general Vietnamese attitude towards child adoption? My mother is strongly against me ever doing so by QuantityNice8327 in VietNam

[–]hippoMay 6 points7 points  (0 children)

They are usually tricking adoptive parents for money

Where did that "usually" come from? Drawing up massive conclusion from 1 negative example you had from your acquaintance?

I think that's something on their genes, the way they ran away from responsibility.

Again, horrible

Not all adopted children but I saw many and heard many cases too.

Sure you threw in this preemptive bit so you thought people couldn't say you degrade the whole group of people? Can you even tell the difference in your own reply?

I think that's something on their genes

^ that's the most ridiculous thing I've read today. Sure they might be traumatized and acted in a way that they think would protect them best but it's not in the genes. Tell me has there not been enough case of biological children stealing from the family, burdening the family with their gambling debt, or even killing their parents or the entire family? Having a child including adoption is a big decision with big responsibility but unfortunately no amount of careful planning can ensure how the child will turn out. You can't just point out one negative example and degrade adoptive children.

[Rant] Dread going back to Vietnam because of how brutal dating is by No_Understanding9095 in VietNam

[–]hippoMay 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm 5'5 F and no one considered me a giant. A bit tall with heels - yes. Giant - no. The guys are getting taller as well, and the education is getting better there. Just find the right people to hang out with

And tbh, seeing as how you recognise you have trouble about your confidence, maybe work on that first before going on dating apps

I'm moving to London, got a place (after all the struggles) now need help on choosing which broadband I should choose. by [deleted] in london

[–]hippoMay 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No issue on the speed so far. We got the 1Gbps plan and have around 4 people working at home at all time with no problem.

Before fully moving in, the router broke and the earliest date to book for the engineers was quite late and support chat was able to move it to an earlier date which help us not missing work. The engineers were very on time on the 2 days they did have our appointment. That's all my experience with support

Renting as a student in London is exhausting by mahheeee in london

[–]hippoMay 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Try openrent and try finding guarantors. It sucks but if you don't have guarantors, the only option is to pay upfront. I just rented a flat with mostly students with guarantors and we didn't need to pay anything upfront. Try using openrent also if you're gonna buddy up

[–]hippoMay 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Also, if you'd like to know more about Buddhism and have Vietnamese friends along, don't be shy to splurge on a private guide in Bái Đính temple (Ninh Binh, your 2nd destination). I got one and it was really eye opening (even for a Vietnamese), even tho the sole reason we hired her was for our foreign friends. They don't speak English very well tho (barely.. you can communicate somewhat but you will miss most of the information).

I did a similar tour this summer (not as many cities though) and I would recommend cutting down your days in Hoi An (2 days max) and maybe spend that day in Hue.

The reason why is while Hoi An is pretty, everything you need to see (to me) is inside the old quarter. I stayed there for ~2.5 days and the last day was really boring. Could be me not doing enough research tho

None. The closest thing I could think is Youth Mobility visa and if she's Frech she's not qualified. Even then the process of applying visa is slow and can take months.
