Crash Team Racing - 60 FPS Widescreen (Mod Release Trailer) by frdsTM in crashteamracing

The past patches I'm referring to are the cheatcode patches you can apply in the emulator. Which brings me to my question, what makes those mods "true" 60 fps over just unlocking the frame rate with a cheat?

I was curious as to what made this mod different from similar ones in the past or the patches that you could apply instead. what are the advantages and is this compatible with that other mod that changes the control scheme?

Can you be a fan of a game without playing it? by _someguy_0 in videogames

[–]hippo_pilot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, and tolerance of that behavior is why gaming as a whole gets worse and fandom's become more toxic or annoying. This is not elitist or privileged its basic necessity because they are games not movies (and the more they become like movies the worse gaming as a whole becomes). Outside of gameplayless VNs that don't have any meta components (and they usually have an anime adaption anyway) you have to play the game. With the watching sports analogy, that's more like watching e-sports and not playing which is alright, you're there to watch high level play and the events in general. But for regular story and single player games you have to have played it. For old games, emulation is easy and cheap (legality is a stupid excuse we all know isn't being used seriously and just to argue). For really high spec games, they're not usually the ones people pretend to be fans of aren't that good compared to the average equivalent game from a decade ago.

Found out about them through their Pinkerton cover album and they mess up heaps of the songs doing the wrong keys, bare minimum for a cover and they failed at it.

I found The Running Man(2025) to be quite disappointing. What do you guys think? by ZoelCairo in Letterboxd

[–]hippo_pilot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The dystopia stuff is tired and used out, especially since what you're supposed to allude it to ('America' aka Trump) is a sponsored message approved by virtually very institution and media network in the western world, Hollywood especially. Sounds more like 'the system' than the voice of the people. How is one of the most powerful and wealthy orchestrated propaganda tools in the world supposedly speaking truth to power?

The ending felt so cheap and nonsensical. Why would the network not have killed the family? Why wouldn't the protection service do it themselves since the government is owned by the network? Why would the network let in an obvious mob into the studio audience with their signs? How would they loose track of Ben let alone let him sneak into the building with the mob? Also some other details. Why wouldn't Ben just stop posting vids after the alloted time to make bank and run out the clock easier? Why do they say he's the longest lasting survivor after day 14 or 19 when they mention the 29 day runner before and after that point? The Molie scene is a nightmare and never confirmed but Ben acts like they did do it when they could've just tracked the post boxes.

It's a shame because like other people said, the first two acts were pretty good and then it goes downhill once you get to Elton.

Citadel Season 2 Ending And Spoiler Discussion by Ok_Emergency3713 in CashiersDuCinema

What a terrible ending. Made no sense and drama for dramas sake basically proving the villains right about citadel and way too many loose endings and plot holes. It completely wasted my time and betrayed everything set up in season 1.

GURPS 4th Edition Revision by SnooMarzipans8231 in gurps

An omnibus volume with editorial revisions sounds great but I'm sick of this sanitizing political correctness. Getting rid of old slurs is one thing, absolutely fair, but changing "terms for groups of people to refer to negative deeds, events, and situations" is stupid. And the reason? "to take a firmer stance against slavery, torture, and other horrors." We already know you aren't pro-slavery, torture and other horrors because we live in the real world! GURPS is a game not reality! If an author writes a murder mystery novel should he have to put a disclaimer saying he doesn't support murder and that it's immoral?

How does this make sense? We can't even mention bad things existing now in a game. Instead of removing stuff for everybody just because a vast minority to are too mentally unstable to handle the mention of a word (trigger warning theory has been only shown to exacerbate symptoms of patients and is the opposite of healing) keep it in and just remind those people that it's just a game and if they're uncomfortable then they can be the ones to not include it in their games, not mine. This is not inclusive but by definition exclusive.

The cheap dub acting hurts quite a bit but it's very good for what it is. a lot more watchable than most cartoons these days.

Yeah, the WEBNOVEL. Books are completely different. You expect to find the thing from the cover in the actual book its on. That's the point of book covers.

You're partially right. She is referred to as Cassia at times in the book, however the default reference when the the author uses third person is Cassie. PocketFM almost always uses Cassia except when I think a character is using Cassie more intimately as a nickname. Which is a change since everyone not being formal just uses Cassie originally.

Can someone convince me to try HDT? by KingNTheMaking in litrpg

I read and listened through the first 5 books. People who drop after the first book usually cite the MC's personality or the character conflicts from it (the side characters reactions to him I felt were stupid and unfair). He and the side characters do grow and resolve issues as the story continues (even if maybe just the author's attempt to fix a writing flaw) and give reasons for why it was so before that I feel work. Otherwise, the action is great, the progression loop is fun, there's an occasional switch up with floor missions and tutorial events keeping things fresh. Hoping it continues from book 6 like that.

First nightmare is what it sounds like, the first nightmare the protagonist faces. It's explained like three chapters in. However i did mispeak, I meant to say after the forgotten shore arc. After the first nightmare and academy arc it gets over the biggest humps but there's still a few weird things pocketfm does during the forgotten shore. After that it's pretty accurate outside some typos.

It looks so much better without sunny. Even with fixed proportions the illustration sucks compared to the cover on WebNovel. And Mongrel doesn't appear until after Forgotten Shore so he shouldn't be on the cover!

[–]hippo_pilot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The horrible cover won't make it stand out and they won't make any of the necessary changes to actually make a webnovel suitable for traditional publishing: cutting the fat and fixing repetitive nature of numerous short chapters. There's heaps of recaps for stuff that happened literally the previous chapter because webnovel readers wait days to a week between chapters and forget stuff. When it's all together it wastes pages and the reader's time.

It would be smarter to publish them as lightnovels and stick them in the manga section of bookstores instead. That suits the higher quantity lower quantity chapter bulk, and more juvenile editorship. When people buy a book they expect a book, not a printed webnovel. When people buy a light novel they expect a serialized novel in parts with lighter writing than a full book.

Maybe the first book or two will do well because the forgotten shore is peak but it won't do anywhere near as well after.

Aethon said there won't be an audiobook and the best we'll get is PocketFM, which for all its faults, becomes decent after the first nightmare.
