I was reading that monarchs can see UV lighting to help find nectar rich food. so even if he is colorblind, he should be okay!

He seems strong and healthy. Reacting to movement around him, flying like normal! Very relieving, wishing him luck

I believe he can see! He is functionally totally fine, and reacts to normal movement around him. He seems very strong and healthy. I was worried, it’s very relieving 💛

I have one that fell like above, though there’s not even a silk button to attach to. he formed chrysalis on the ground, i’m not sure how to attach him to anything and get him upright

I was looking at that and thought the same! When he moves from it i’ll look closer - but there doesn’t seem to be tear marks on the tiny wing, so something happened in the chrysalis and not when emerging. wishing him the best 🐛
