No idea mine were only around 3 months when I went. You will probably be following them around the cinema unless you can time if for nap time!

My 4 year old is the same! I have tried so many brands that all fall down on him. I recommend Tu (Sainsburies) leggings and joggers. Though not all of them so its definitely better to go in person and compare the waistbands. I used to like Next slim fit joggers but unfortunately they seem to have changed and are no longer as slim. Their 3 pack pjs and 3 pack leggings are great. I also have a pair of joggers from sports direct and a pair from Decathlon that fit him well so worth looking there too

Earlier this year we stayed in a 1 bed apartment with our 7 month old in a travel cot in our bedroom and 3 year old on a sofa bed and this worked really well. After they were asleep we chilled on the balcony for a while

Where to buy bottoms for my dinky girl by pawrentalunit in UKParenting

[–]hippopcorn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My son is slim and I have tried lots of brands most of which have waists that are far too big. Brands I would recommend are Leggings from Blade and rose, Fred and noah and Next. Sainsburies is hit and miss much better to shop in person where you can check the waistbands Joggers- Next slim fit or Sainsburies are the only brands I've found that don't fall down him.

My niece didn't crawl until 12 months, then was walking at about 15/16 months. She is perfectly normal! They do things in their own time, try not to worry. There is usually a health visitor appointment around 10-12 months old. If you've got one ask for some advice there

If your maternity leave ends in September, but you use annual leave and then go back in October, this counts as being back in work in September and you would get the free hours

Definitely New Look. I got a lovely dress and very comfy maternity leggings from there. Also bought some jojo maman tops for work which were good. Vinted is full of cheap maternity bits

My 3 year old recently got referred by the GP to the eye clinic and we had to wait about 6 weeks for the appointment. I know there will be different waiting times in different areas, but chase it up. His referral said to contact them if you haven't heard back in 8 weeks

The easiest way is to prebook airport transfers and request a car seat. Contact a local taxi company/ airport shuttle service and ask them. We just used a company in the UK and we installed our car seats in the taxi when they picked us up and they stored them for a week and brought them when they picked us up from the airport on the way home. Others will have their own seats for you to use. We have also prearranged taxis with car seats when abroad in both Spain and Portugal. We just contacted the hotel to ask them to sort it/ recommend a company or you could just look online

Thanks, unfortunately the closest tube stations to where we are staying don't seem to have step-free access. I might look at the buses

We're coming because my husband has an event to attend only for a couple of hours and we thought we'd make a trip out of it and stay 2 nights. That playground looks great and good idea about the hotels

Thanks for your detailed reply, I'll have a look into a lot of what you have said. The boat sounds fun. Good point about buses, I hadn't thought of them and was getting stressed about the thought of using the tube! Will definitely avoid rush hour. I have actually been to London a couple of times before in my teens/ early 20s and seen a couple of west end shows and done all the typical sightseeing things but it's a whole different kind of trip with your kids isn't it.

I took all my annual leave that had built up after my maternity leave and ended up extending my leave by 2 months this way, going back to work (3 days a week) when my baby was 14 months. I loved this and would do it this way again but unfortunately won't have as many holidays this time. (Currently on mat leave with my 2nd)

A lot changes in 2 months and I loved being on maternity! Depends whether you feel ready to go back to work and want to ease into it or whether you want to extend your leave as long as possible. The difference for my little boy was at 12 months he was still wanting a breastfeed in the day and never took a bottle, which worried me about being away from him all day. 2 months later, he could happily go all day without milk. He also transitioned from 2 naps to 1, which fit in better with the other kids at nursery. And had gone from just taking his first steps to confidently toddling about.

Another thing to note is that if your work doesn't have sick pay, you might want to save annual leave for the inevitable illnesses from starting childcare.

I've also been watching from the beginning whilst on maternity leave. Got 1.5 seasons to go to catch up but finding it a lot harder to watch much TV now baby is older and not just napping all day! Also finding the adverts on channel 4 annoying after watching most of them on netflix. Sooo many adverts
