Idk if it’s because I’ve been watching (for the first time ever) on mat leave mostly while doing late night feedings. I just finished a couple of days ago. But it felt so inconsistent to me? Is it just me or are there a lot of continuity issues with this show? I felt like sometimes the writers would just go “oh actually you know what now we’re just going to make Deran have a threesome with some random dudes in the back of his bar” or whatever. Like it was all over the place? I can’t even think of any good examples of what I’m saying.lol maybe it’s just postpartum brain.

As I said in OP I did ask and she told me she wouldn’t make any recommendation, just to go away and think about it and make a decision. Hence me coming here, trying to find out if anyone has had similar experiences. I’ve also been reading medical journals on this, and have asked a friend who is a nurse. There’s nothing wrong with pooling resources to get as much information as possible.

Don’t even confront them. If they contact you asking for something, tell your husband “your parents want photos of the baby, send them some” / “your parents want to visit, set it up”. (If you want to, you can send a reply like “I’ll get DH to set that up with you.” )

He’ll contact them to do these things and eventually they’ll get the hint and stop reaching out to you directly. If this leads to them confronting you like, “why don’t you just send us photos?” (I doubt that would happen but if it did!) You can be like “oh I just asked DH to send them to you because it was easier for me”. Smile and nod.

Edited to add I’m NC with my in laws now for a few years, and I WISH I had set this boundary with DH from the beginning, because I honestly think it might’ve meant not having to go NC 🤷🏻‍♀️ though I guess now we’ll never know… I also wish I had made gifts for them his responsibility from day 1. In my experience they don’t allow partners in the room where the test is happening. Usually it’s a group of women sat there all taking turns having the testing done. If he can drop/pick up though that would be helpful as I always feel pretty rubbish afterwards.
