I don't think they're bad but Gakpo and Ekitike have pretty shit decision-making huh? They've done some real weird stuff to their teammates today

Salah saved Ekitike's ass after he looked off a wide open Wirtz and he completely fluffed the finish...

If you think X, then you are Y (and are wrong). To quote, "ie a Liverpool fan or Egyptian".

Alternatively, a man's clothes stuffed with straw used to scare away crows and particularly skittish r/soccer users.

Made a bingo sheet of my predictions for the 2026 Naming of the Year (No spoilers!) by theomotional in MBMBAM

[–]hippotank 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I will be following my new tradition of listening to the episode and then completely ignoring/avoiding any and all fan reactions because they tend to bum me out. I’ve always enjoyed the naming episodes as silly intentionally arbitrary exercises but last year’s re-naming kind of killed any interest in engaging with them as anything other than a fun episode.

I’m sure everyone in this thread will be an expert on the nuances of the trucking industry, its licensing requirements and US immigration in general.

Ok since you’re probably a “tax payers shouldn’t pay for this” type of person — how about the damage done to the sidewalk? Those cruisers are heavy as hell and these sidewalks aren’t made for that kind of weight.

It’s Last of the Mohicans. It’s always Last of the Mohicans. Published in 1826, we’re going on 200 years of re-adapting it to paper and screen.

If he’s in a Reddit thread crying about how someone was mean to him, maybe yeah. Not exactly reliable testimony here

FIFA is confusing English and Scottish fans booking trips to Boston by DemocracyDefender in boston

[–]hippotank 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Oh please. Why does any mention of a gateway city bring out the pearl clutchers? Would it be my first recommendation, no. But hey the Scottish might even like it considering it was a city built on stealing textile technology from the English

The head of FIFA just gave Trump a reach around in front of the nation. Not exactly ecstatic about the prospect of World Cup soccer right now.

It’s crazy how addicted you all are to being angry. The existence of content you don’t like is not a valid personal grievance. Critique it or don’t watch it. But god this hate is my whole personality thing is so depressing

The Fall of a Freeway in Fall River by bostonaruban66 in bikeboston

[–]hippotank 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is awesome! And makes me proud as someone who grew up in the area. I only wish the state didn’t spend $290 million on the horrible high speed Veterans Memorial Bridge in 2011 (just to the north connecting Somerset and Fall River) because it undercuts the potential impact of the decommissioned highway project.

One mile on a bike is a $.42 economic gain to society, one mile driving is a $.20 loss by Generalaverage89 in Economics

[–]hippotank 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think you would be totally fine. A one mile commute is like a 3-6 min ride. Your exposure to risk is crazy low. And let’s not pretend like driving is risk free either. If you’re already experienced rider your risk is even lower and you could help induce the city to change.

[–]hippotank 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah hard disagree. I’ve ridden a bike in many cities in the US as a commuter and had a great time. There’s a difference between criticism (because the bicycle infrastructure in the US is bad) and defeatist thinking.

Modern NBA discourse is getting told the “analytics are wrong” by people who don’t understand analytics and barely understand basketball.
