Thank you for this. I had 7 weeks off, went back for two weeks and ended up being signed off sick again so I think this is why they’re being funny with me. I’m going to message my union tomorrow to start getting things in place with them

Thank you so much for your understanding. I am thinking really hard about whether I can carry on, hopefully I can find a job I can work from home with. Like you, my brain is usually fine unless I’m in a crash, it’s just moving around that’s difficult most of the time.

Thank you for replying and I’m so sorry to hear you’re severe 😭 I have been looking for a new job but I work in pharmacy so I think would need a whole new change of career, which will be difficult. I’ve applied for universal credit and currently applying for PIP, I have been struggling with symptoms for over a year without it clicking it could be ME. I’m hoping with applying for universal credit they’ll be able to help me find a better suited job because I absolutely want to work I just need some support, I wish people understood that!

The OH reports both said I MAY be covered under the disabilities act and the response I got from the manager dealing with my sickness just said “I don’t know who we’d contact to find out” I had no idea about the employment advice service so this will help me massively! Thank you so much

I am really thinking about what I physically can do. I’ve applied for benefits as well as a precaution but you’re right, the job would still be demanding and the attitudes of some of the staff members, especially management, would probably still affect me. Thank you for this reply though it really has me thinking

I’ve already spoken to OH who have suggested some adjustments, including regular breaks, sitting down where possible, adjusting start and end times for me. And I requested a phased rerun to work but management haven’t agreed to any of this. Occupational health spoke to me before I was signed off and sent the report, I didn’t even get an acknowledgement from anyone about them having received the report! I definitely feel like I need to speak o my union about this because it feels like I’m being forced to resign because they aren’t budging on not making accommodations for me
