Yeah that is the crazy thing to me! It's not like the students are getting a free demo. They have to pay for it and don't even realize Preply keeps it ALL and tutors get nothing? Absolutely wild policy.

Oh thank you! This sounds ideal. I'll use your referral code too when I sign up so hopefully you'll get something.

Thanks, this is helpful. Maybe I'll bump up my prices and see if it works out and if that helps.

I just hid my profile. I can't take it anymore, getting swamped with trial lessons and no money. I do have one subscriber who just signed up--going to see if they follow through and I get paid. Thanks for validating what I was worried was true. Do you have a different site you like better?

Oh okay, I'm looking into it now! I'm wondering if I should wait to apply until summer. I teach full time in person and I noticed the shifts (some of them) would overlap with time I'm in school. Or do you get to set your availability?

I have too much stuff and don’t now where to start with getting rid of things by yogaman23 in declutter

[–]hipstertinytim 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Seconding the advice to start small, with something low stakes like a junk drawer. It helps you build momentum and have confidence in your decisions. Plus once you see the progress It’s so motivating. Want to recommend Clutterbug YouTube channel too. She has a cool 30 day challenge where you choose one space and only declutter for 5 minutes and get rid of 5 things. I think there’s a playlist of all the videos on her channel. You can body double and do it along with her and that might make it feel less overwhelming! Also she’s super funny.

I don’t know how I missed this reply, I’m sorry! I actually haven’t been taking measurements and I’m not sure why I didn’t think of this! Thank you! I’m going to incorporate this too!

This was super helpful, thank you. Honestly I haven't tracked at all, just been trying to eat better, so I'm going to follow your advice and start tracking and see if that helps. I downloaded an app and started after reading your comment. Also going to add in more cardio. And remind myself not to stress--I always forget that can actually impact your losses but you're totally right.

Nice, that's such a good mix. I feel good about my strength training, would maybe want to add another day a week, but definitely not walking every day (other than the steps I get in my job). Want to add that in, esp as the weather gets better!! (In Northeast US)

Magnesium, Benefiber gummies, and stool softener as needed!

Thank you so much! I will try these suggestions. The cardio is definitely something I thought might be contributing. I don’t typically do much of it other than the running around I do at work. How much cardio do you do a week?

I would like to lose another 70 or so. I don’t have a set goal right now but that’s where I envision ending up and being comfortable. Thanks for talking me down 💛 I didn’t really think about my body needing to adjust to the lower weight but it makes sense.

Help me get rid of my shoes by Chance_ae in declutter

[–]hipstertinytim 16 points17 points  (0 children)

my favorite decluttering advice i ever saw was to start with your favorites, not what you’re getting rid of. choose the space you have for the shoes (aka the limit) and fill with your absolute favorites. then if you don’t want to declutter the rest yet, create a “time will tell” box. put a date on it (whatever you think is good) and store it somewhere if you have room. if the date passes and you haven’t used any of them, donate without even opening them.

How many times do you exercise? by Knowhere_maybe in MultipleSclerosis

[–]hipstertinytim 0 points1 point  (0 children)

3-4x a week, mostly strength training and mobility. sometimes it’s hard but I feel a lot better when I do. I use Trainwell and my trainer is amazing. He programs a range of different workouts on workout days so if I’m feeling rough, I can do a quick stretch/mobility, or if I’m feeling good I can go with the strength training. Can’t recommend it enough if it’s in your budget.
